I suck at the derby compared to some of you guys. I'm just excited that I broke the Top 150 all-time this weekend! Moral victories are a premium with me.

My second prediction after a long break. I guess it's not bad. At #11 this week. What was I thinking prediction so high for Hoodwinked and Nanny Mcphee with the coming of Curious George. Those are the only 2 movies that drag me down this week.

moonreflection, same deal with me. Second prediction after a long break.
Yeah, had I not been so stupid with Curious George and Firewall, I could have had a much better score. #10 is good, but I don't feel like I played like someone deserving of #10 this week...

Thanks guys! Woohoo!
This is my:
8th 90+ score all-time
2nd 90+ score for the year
second win, first win above 90
Now my standing:
5th for February
13th for the year so far (jumped like 40 spots!)
28th all time with average score of 81.78%
Hopefully I can stay above 80 for a while, almost dipped under it 2nd week of January.

91 Shack 76.98%
I can't believe that with these absolutely horrid scores the last two weeks, I've been near or in the top 100. Regularily I'd be out of the top 250.

Well, I'm gaining on pretty much everybody except for Jeff in the yearly race, extending the losing streak to 7 weeks. Last year I didn't start moving until April, but I do need to be a lot more consistent from now on.
This past weekend was really there for the taking. Similar to what Ross felt, I don't think my score deserves that ranking.

I echo everyone else, can't believe I made the top 20 with my score. Not that I'm complaining. And still #2 for the month somehow! #1 looks pretty out of reach though.

Wolfram Meidlinger, whoever you are!
But Jeff.....you feel like you have a really great week, yet he's so good you hardly gain any ground on him. I entered the year with the decision to develop a whole new derby strategy; my old one wasn't really designed for this type of game. However, when I didn't get around to it during the first two weeks I just did my usual (risky ) predictions as I figured that it was just a couple weeks; it can't make too much of a difference, right? Well, right there I fell very far behind, with a gap that would take months at best to make up. I either need Jeff and others near the top to seriously mess up, or I need to keep plugging away all year. At least it is a long year. I actually really like it this way: feeling like I'm the underdog and have a mountain to slowly climb. It's nice to see your yearly rank go from 62 to 28 on one weekend.
Well, at least I'm doing well now without yet having done my long-planned (and long-delayed) "big number crunching". If I actually get around to creating those spreadsheets, analyzing all those figures for correlations, finding the general value of each identifiable factor, and determining all probabilities as well as possible, it could help. I use my gut feeling for these things (using correlations, the effect of different factors etc.) rather then a statistical basis in determining my exact predictions; but in my experience in any comprehensive analysis you’ll be surprised and discover things you wouldn’t have ever noticed or figured. Of course the “big number crunching†sounds daunting, and would probably involve an absurd amount of time to invest for a hobby, especially since I don’t know how much it would help. Then again, with all the time I’ll end up spending on the derby over the course of the year, it seems less so.
Anyway, I may very well be delusional, but I'm aiming for you Jeff. There would be no fun if I weren't.
heh, I just though of how that sounds: predicting numbers for an internet game is my idea of fun.

Finally, a decent result for me. #27 in the yearly race!
By April, I aim to be in the Top 20 for the year.

Winning Feb isn't my main focus, so my predictions won't be designed to try to lock up the month. If we disagree on an opener or two and the numbers go your way you can beat me for the month. Or French Man, or.....Jeff.

So you're #1 for Feb, DP?
It'd be awesome if I could get into the Top 5 for Feb.

If only I hadn't raised my Freedomland prediction so much I would have won. Still, I have to be happy with my yearly ranking at this point. I've never won a month; we'll see if that continues.
