Don't they always pick an actor or actress who is not eligible that year, meaning they didn't make a movie for which to be nominated?

Yep.

Or usually a "cheerleader" for someone (ahem, Woody Allen).

I don't think so. Didn't Sigourney Weaver give the nominations a few years ago?

I'll be driving to school when they're announced, so I'll have to search for them on the radio.

Anyone know if NPR usually broadcasts them or not?

Haven't heard him mentioned even once this year, really. I'd give it to Fiennes or Mortensen first.

Guys, you know there's going to be one BIG surprise. Where's it gonna come from (category) and who do you think it'll be?

I really have no idea what to expect tomorrow.

I think I'll end up happy and disappointed after they are announced.

If Munich doesn't get nominated tomorrow, I'm gonna cry.

(I jumped on the best film of the year bandwagon, if you hadn't heard.)

As mentioned else where, my most likely biggest surprises of the morning include King Kong for Best Picture, Wong Kai-Wai for Best Director, Strathairn snubbed for Best Actor, and Bello snubbed for Best Supporting Actress.

I'm just hoping it won't be like last year, where the biggest surprises were all the ones I didn't want to see (Giamatti, House of Flying Daggers, etc.), while the top 5 were as safe as they got.
