No, Brokeback will still win.

But I think it will only win 3 or 4 awards.

I'm with you on that.

No acting awards.

Has anything ever won with 3 or less wins in the "modern era"?

I believe Million Dollar Baby only got 4 wins, so it's certainly possible.

PEACE, Mike.

Who cares? BBM will win with 3 because everyone thinks Paul G. is the shit for some reason & cuz PSH has been screwed over too many times.

Didn't Driving Miss Daisy only win like 2 besides Best Picture?

Picture, Actress, Screenplay, and Makeup, so 3.

The Godfather and Rocky won 3 awards including Best Picture way back in the 70's.

I think the fewest since then was 4.

the better question is which other films won BP with no acting wins while winning 4 or less overall

I still have a terrible feeling that Weisz will be screwed over by the Academy and Williams will win. The SAG often doesn't match up perfectly with the Oscars, right? So, it could be that way. Unfortunately (for me).

PEACE, Mike.

Yeah but these are the actors and Weisz's role borders on being a Leading role.

I hope you're right.

And in my opinion, Weisz's role is a leading role. She's just being stuffed in the supporting category.

PEACE, Mike.

Heh, The Jennifer Connelly Syndrome.

Weisz's performance is much more showy than Williams', which will probably help her.

I think Weisz is more of a Leading than even Connelly. I mean the whole movie is about her and Finnes doesn't really come much into the story until almost 50 minutes in.

I'm trying to locate the data on BP winners with no acting wins and 4 or fewer wins overall.

It's not easy.

Very true. Tessa really was the basis of the entire film and most of the interesting plot developments revolved around her character, as I remember saying in my original review.

Weisz positively crackled in the film, I would love to see her win since Amy Adams probably won't.

I think A Beautiful Mind, The Last Emperor, Platoon, Kramer v. Kramer, Chariots of Fire all won only 4.

Did Ordinary People win 4 only?
