You liked it that much? I don't know how to explain it, but I found it very "typical."

All my A-'s were extremely strong this year. They could easily be A's with a few tweaks. My B+'s are extremely weak however.

Well, I wouldn't call it a masterpiece like some claim it to be (I gave it a B+, which is enough to put it at #9 for now - really need to see movies like History of Violence, The Squid and the Whale, Munich, etc.), but it's completely engaging from start to end and the ending caught me completely offguard (I'm still not sure if in a good or a bad way)..

like La Pianiste, it's the kind of ending that can really upset a person (the whole movie itself is upsetting, with the slow shots).. after being initially very frustrated with that ending, it has been growing on me.. so, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt this time..


oh, and it has the most shocking scene of the year for me so far (already a trademark in Haneke's movies)... I don't even have to mention it...

What is Caché about?

It's about a man who begins receiving videos of himself with his family, shot secretly from the street, along with weird drawings... and basically that's how it starts..

the videos start to become more personal with time and the man starts suspecting that the sender is someone who knows him for some time...

Based on that and without knowing anything else about the film, he probably sent them to himself.
