I suppose they won't release it on DVD in Feb, however I think they should have. If this sells less then Ray I think it will prove that Oscar films are best off being on DVD in Feb.

Squee!
Personally, I am abstaining from predicting action movies from now on. I seem much more in tune for dramas, imports, indies and comedies. Its all the action movies that kill me.

Likely Golden Globe victories for Best Picture and Reese Witherspoon tonight will surely help give this film the $1.6M it needs to get $100M.
Wahoo!

I didn't expect it to be quite that strong this weekend, but it'll definitely benefit from the Globes.
Only 1.6 million to go? Who would have thought it possible?

As expected (by anybody not wanting to hate on WTL...lol) it did indeed pick up Golden Globe wins for the film, Reese Witherspoon, and Joaquin Phoenix, so it'll be interesting to see if it'll pass the magic number by next weekend.

Well, I tried to talk you into it. I even reminded you of what happened when you didn't join the Sith will gross 150 million opening weekend.
Next time I do one of these, just join, huh?

Glad to see it reach the mark. We still have a pretty low number of 100m films for 2005 though.

Well, I'm guessing today was the day to put it over 100 million, so this deserves a bump.

Some damn deserving Globe wins this past Monday. As great as Felicity Huffman was in "Transamerica", I'm hoping dearly for a win at the Oscars for Reese. A win for Joaquin would be great, as well. As for Best Picture, my obvious choice is "Walk the Line" but it seems all but certain that "Brokeback Mountain" is heading towards Best Picture.

Of all the movies nominated for Best Picture this year (when they're nominated) I'd probably want Walk the Line winning as well. It wasnt my favorite movie of the year, but I liked it a lot and it will probably be the only nominated film I have seen.

Congratulations to Walk the Line for surpassing 100 million, as some of us said it would long ago!

O yeah, that made a bi difference and it never would have without what you mentioned.
I hope Mav doesn't make you change your user name to Dingaling.

Who cares? It still got there.
Now the question is, how high will it go? I'm going to say $115M.

It was a joke, by the way.
