Include me as well.

I think we should officially include Wallace & Gromit to this, EW be damned, since it's the 100%, undisputed, can't-lose Animated Feature winner. Placing Shopgirl on there instead blows my mind.

Are we using the EW list or all the "Big 8" nominated films?

Ah, I see. I misunderstood. I thought we were using the EW list. Must. Read. Closer.

I thought I was wrong, heh. But the two lists will share many of the same films.

I wonder if A History of Violence is getting a re-release, as it doesn't hit stores until March 14. That's probably the only movie from the top 8 that I wont be able to see unless I download it or it is released again.

They really botched the initial release pretty badly, so I don't expect a re-release. I'll add you, though, because you would probably find a way to see it if you only had one more to see.

And I may not have to see it before then, because it's not a lock in any category from where I stand.

Comeon, guys and girls, there aren't enough names on this list by half. If it doesn't fill up after the globes, I'm going to really start nagging.

Is there a good list around of what films will probably be nominated in the top 8? Just so people have some idea?

I would say the top 8 films at this point would be (in no order)

Brokeback Mountain
Crash
Capote
Good Night, and Good Luck
Walk the Line
Munich
The Constant Gardener
A History of Violence

Since the list was posted, I have seen Junebug.

I meant the films that will probably have a nomination in the top 8 catagories. Just some idea. I posted a list using the EW predix I think...any glaring misses?

Here's a list that will probably cover the lsit, give or take.

Walk the Line
Capote
Munich
Crash
Good Night, and Good Luck
Brokeback Mountain
A History of Violence
Transamerica
Cinderella Man
Syriana
Junebug
The Constant Gardener
In Her Shoes
North Country
Pride and Prejudice
The Upside of Anger
Mrs. Henderson Presents

You don't have to see anything nominated for Best Screenplay. I'm trying to see all of those, too.

Alright, I'm in. I'll feel kind've dirty doing a lot of the necessary downloading, but I'll take that over not seeing the movie.

I'm up for the challenge with the exception of Narnia, which I'm not in the mood to watch, nor will I think it'll get much more than the techies. That being said, I'm not sure if there's anything on the list of potentials I haven't seen unless Hustle & Flow or P&P gets anything. I'll try though.

Have you seen Transamerica and Mrs. Henderson Presents already? Those two, Capote, and perhaps Hustle and Flow are the only possibilities that I think I would need to see. I'm seeing Capote as soon as I can muster the strength to listen to that voice for 2 hours.

Did you find it as interminably dull as I did?

With the exception of Amy Adams' performance, it's a great, honking sloth of a film.

Yes I have. Awhile ago when they opened, and I have full reviews I put up a few weeks ago as well for those two.

Already seen Capote, its a great movie. 9th on my top 12 of the year. As I mentioned before, I haven;t seen Hustle & Flow. I wanted to but never got around to it. Something tells me it'll get zilch as far as noms go, though. Are we including movies that got passed up too, but had been expected to be big? Like New World, match Point, etc.?

No, just the films that get nominations for Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, andSupporting Actress are part of the challenge. You can see the other ones if you want to. I'm thinking I'll see the screenplay noms, too, and after that, I'll see how it goes and might see everything that got a nomination. (except foereign film nominees. )

I'm hoping that once nominations are set, we'll have over 20 and maybe even 30.

Yeah, for the most part, I agree with you.

Adams was good, would I give her an Oscar nom? I dunno. I do like her though so it's not like I mind it.
