Well, I saw this yesterday afternoon and it's not a slasher movie at all. It's being really mismarketed. It's more a mystery/thriller in the vein of GOSSIP. It was still really good though. It moved at a fast face and definitely kept you guessing until the end. It was a really cool and inventive film that I highly recommend.

This movie was great. It was not really a slasher flick, but more like a thriller. I had so much fun watching this movie. It scared me, made me have a good time, and made me have a good time with my friends. I highly recommend this movie. At my theater the 7:25 was about 95% full with just a few seats open on a 300 seater. The audience loved it to. A

Heh, I get this mental image of the movie holding a gun to your head forcing you to like it.

It's not a slasher at all, it's much more of a mystery and a damn good one too.

I'm actually surprised.
This was damn good. A thriller (not slasher) that keeps you guessing until the end, and does a great job. Although I had the killer picked out from the beginning, the whole film just threw me off to the point where I had to change it.

I'm disappointed, I didn't really like it. It's ending completley fell apart for me, it lowered my grade by a considerable amount. Some thoughts about it:
[spoil]
1. For the first girl, Dodger just chases her out in the woods and shoots her. Yet, for Bon Jovi, she for some odd reason creates a month-long ultra complex scheme? Why didn't she just shoot him in the woods like the other girl, or why didn't she just poison his food or something. To go to *that* much hassle, a month long of completley interlocking and manipulating everybody, for no apparent reason at all, it just seemed silly to me.
2. If she was still in love with Bon Jovi, then why did she kill him? Wouldn't it make more sense just to kill the blonde girl and then keep him all for herself again?
3. The whole prank at the end was wayyyyy over the line. They'd already tortured Owen with enough pranks and almost got him expelled, and now the cops 100% pissed off about the whole thing. Yet they do even more pranks, and ones that are that long and that vivid where it looks like everyone is dead. I think after the almost expulsion, they would have enough sense to just stop it all instead of doing the exact same things again.

There were bound to be some 2005 films that would surprise me. This is one of those films. If it wasn't for the somewhat lame payoff/final scene, this would've been very good. Instead, it's just kind of good. I liked the fact that it was more mystery than slasher. Yes there were some things that didn't make any sense (Like some of the things that Shack mentioned), but I didn't care. The film was enjoyable. Also, the poster and the DVD art do not do the film any justice.

Terrible film. Total and complete ripoff of the much better 1986 slasher film April Fools Day.

Here we see a really bad case of false marketing. The movei was clearly marketed and promoted as a teen slasher. Well, it is not. Definitely not. It might not become quite clear until the end, but when all is revealed what we are left with is an old-fashioned thriller, in the vein of The Skulls. I was fairly entertained and the ending, while illogical, was still a good one. I saw the twist coming, but it still worked well for me and I was glad to see that for once, the villain did not end up punished. Decent entertainment. I'm interested in seeing the unrated version...
