I want to say as we move on to the big guns:

I loved CAPOTE, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman gave a brilliant performance that was one of the highlights of the year. But Heath Ledger was working on some strange ethereal plane of existence in BBM. He should win.

Nonetheless, I think I'm picking Hoffman.

I'm sure we'll be hearing the same "Walk the Line won't be nominated for an Oscar" from those who are against it. :giggle:

Or is it not even nominated? :disgust:

It is in better company as an unnominated film!

I actually hope it stays that way.

.

It's far from a lock. Competition is too fierce and the movie is weaker than 5 or 6 other pictures. Get over it

Walk the Line was the only one of those films that had a chance. I don't see where that Pride and Prejudice stuff was coming from, really.

Congrats to a fantastic film!

I didn't know Keach was married to Jane.

Because Pride was the only other alternative? ;)

It was more a case of people projecting their opinions on the HFPA and not wanting WTL to win so they could tell me they told me so. :hahaha:

Well, I want it to be nom'd for BP, but I just keep getting this bad feeling it won't. I'm hoping -- praying, actually -- to be proved wrong ;)
