Heh. Despite what EW says, there's not really any need to see Shopgirl or Upside of Anger by Oscar night.
Where the hell is Wallace & Gromit?

Of those, I've only seen 40-Year-Old Virgin and Chronicles of Narnia... Both got A+'s from me.

Upside of Anger features great performances by Joan Allen and Kevin Costner, as well as Erika Christensen, Keri Russell, Alicia Witt, and Evan Rachel Wood, who all deserved supporting considerations. Mike Binder also did a fine job, as well as writing and good script and providing solid direction.

Joan Allen was good and Kevin Costner was better than that. Evan Rachel Wood needs to stop sullying the screen with her presence. I thought Binder's script was confused and muddled and lacking in pretty much every way.
It doesn't need to be seen by Oscar night because neither Allen nor Costner are getting recognized. Same for Shopgirl. Same for 40 Year Old Virgin.

These are the ones I haven't seen -
Syriana
Transamerica
North Country
Memoirs of a Geisha
Match Point
Mrs. Henderson Presents
The Squid & the Whale
The 40 Year-Old Virgin
Cache
Shopgirl
I'll probably see North Country & The 40 Year-Old Virgin on DVD before Oscar night and I'm seeing Match Point next week. I wish The Squid & the Whale would get a little bit of a rerelease. Anyone know when Shopgirl hits DVD?

Why is "The 40 Year Old Virgin" on this list, but not The Wedding Crashers and Wedding Crashers made a hell of alot of $$$ at the box office moreso than The 40 Year Old Virgin??

Because Wedding Crashers didn't make it on many critics list and also didnt't get a WGA screenplay nom etc.

I really need to see it to know what all the fuss is about, but I must say that Wedding Crashers left me mightily impressed, os it'll have hard time unseating it.
