from the dead

j/k

that would be interesting but her style of song doesn't fit the depressing mold of Casino Royale.

Bond won't be gentle.

Bond would see someone say... "hey I think Michael Buble should sing your theme..." and before the sentance ended the offending party would be shot dead, a quip would have been made and Bond would have been banging his hot model girlfriend.

I'm just going to storm into this thread and call myself a Bond authority and a music authority, and now that my credentials are out of the way  , I'll give my opinion.

Eric Clapton doing a remake of Johnny Rivers' classic "Secret Agent Man".

Michael Buble isn't a horrible choice, though. He's a crooner and doesn't have much edge to his stuff, but what kind of edge can be found in most Bond songs? Not many of them have it. I wouldn't cringe or anything if I heard his name come up as the guy singing the theme for it, but give me Clapton over him any day.

This movie has all the ingredients to suck big time, but as for who will be singing the opening theme music, I say Sheryl Crowe..

Hmmm... I would have to think on that one. Clapton with an orchestra could be great.

True, I just think it stuff is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too showy. He'd have to turn it down a tad.

If course, if I had girls throwing panties at me, I'd be over the top as well.

By the way...

http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/675/675087p1.html

The song is written? It's being recorded next month? I guess that makes sense... it's not easy to put together a Bond title sequence...

The guy who wrote the song wants Robbie Williams to do it?

Quote:
The site quotes composer-performer Tony Christie, who is writing the song, as revealing, "Ideally, of course, I'd like to sing it. But Robbie's voice would suit it down to the ground -- plus he's current and hip so it would be absolutely great if he did it. We tried to make it a typical Bond theme tune with a throbbing, dramatic bass line filling the background."

:disgust:
