Which film will be the 5th nominee in Original Screenplay?
The consensus is there are four locks in the original screenplay category: Crash, Match Point, GNAGL, and The Squid and the Whale, but the 5th spot is wide open, with no film charging to grab it. So how do you think it will play out? My vote right now goes to W&G because ever since the animated feature category is created, its eventual winner has always gotten a screenplay nomination, but I could easily see others making it instead.

Question: is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang original or adapted? Because that's my "shocker" right now.. it didn't set the world on fire box-office wise (it made what? 5 million?), but it still did better than Junebug..
If adapted, I'll go with Junebug - I'm afraid Amy Adams won't be nominated just like Steve Buscemi a few years ago, and a Screenplay nomination might be its "reward", just like "Ghost World"..

My question is the same. If Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is considered original (and I think iot is), then I am sure it'll get a nom.
If not, then Junebug or Cinderella Man.

Grrrrr. It's a good film but the screenplay was where it's problems lay. Good direction & acting etc. just.... so damn contrived

I agree, but it is a lock. A super lock. It will only lose because of Good Night.

I think Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is considered original. I'll add it to the poll.

By the way, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang deserves to win this actually. Crash would be a close second in my book.

This is a tough one, but yeah, I think it'll be Cinderella Man, especially if Crowe misses out on a nomination.
Kiss Kiss has only gotten minimal precursor attention, so I think it'll be an uphill climb for that one.
I'd love to see a Junebug nomination outside of Amy Adams, but I doubt that'll happen.
