Bradley, why can't you get over it that many people actually like this movie?

I will admit, after actually seeing the film, it won't be able to post Titanic-type numbers, although it is still good and should have strong legs either way. It's a little late to say it won't be like Titanic, but one really needs to see the film for themself to decide whether or not it can do that well. The ending is much too depressing, and although the Kong/Darrow relationship is great, it lacks that suave male lead like Titanic.

My comment was not in regards to the french man's opinion on the movie, but rather to his lead off comment in his post...

Now that is flat out rude. I was joking about the french man's comment that his was the "first real review".
Even though this thread is filled with many off-topic comments, including some by me (see my stat post on page 11), there have been a significant number of real reviews throughout this thread, both positive and negative. To explain my joke, if you click on the link, it goes to a page called "How to Recognize a Narcissist", a slight but humorous comment on the french man's intro comment (in which I'm sure he was joking too).
I'm sorry that you needed to have this explained to you BacktotheFuture, but I hope that you can understand my intent now...

Dude.
When he said first real review, he meant his first real review, meaning that's the first time he's written a review on KJ as a user here.

He might have said " My first real review", but if what you say is true - my bad!
(That doesn't excuse BacktotheFuture's rudeness though!)

Terrible joke, seeing no one got it. No I wasn't saying all the other reviews were invalid, I was saying it was my first FULL review, like Shack explained.

My apologies, good sir!
(Though, had the joke actually been relevant, I might venture to say it was slightly better than terrible - just too subtlely delivered... )
((...and BTW, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the movie. Despite Dr. Lecter's obtuse comment, even when I don't share the same opinion of a movie, I'm happy to hear another movie lover's joy spilling over in their review... )

For what it's worth, despite bradley being wrong about Kong, he usually has pretty good taste, so I don't get all the hate. :O
Also, I got the "joke". :O

Thanks? If my joy had been spilling over, it wouldn't have gotten a B+, although I admit it's fairly positive. Any opinions on the review? I really wouldn't mind a critique from anyone who would volunteer.

Can't believe french man's original comment of "first real review" could be mistaken. what's this obsession to jump all over someone with different opinion? it especially looks dumb when something like this happens.

Try and keep up with the discussion, xiayun - that was not what I did and I explained it 14 posts ago... bradley witherberry wrote: Dr. Lecter wrote: Bradley, why can't you get over it that many people actually like this movie? Based on this movie's day to day box office, this movie has crappy legs and really is sucking at the box office and sucking so bad that Universal is afraid to post their numbers of it for Thursday cause it got whooped badly by The Chronicles of Narnia and it's embarrassing for a movie that was hyped to kingdom come like KONG was..

Dude, it's now Saturday morning and you STILL haven't posted your "A+" review yet of KONG and you claimed you saw it on Monday.. What's the holdup??? You said the movie was Brilliant, did you not?? If so, post your review unless of course the movie really didn't live up to your expectations and your afraid to admit it???

There are some film projects that are just a little bit to ambitious for any director
After a long voyage, the crew arrives at the long-forgotten and mythical Skull Island. As the crew begins to set up to film the movie, they are attacked by the natives, who soon seize Anne. While Jack and Carl believe Anne is dead
I doubt they would have ventured into the jungle to look for a corpse.
While, as stated, it is not a disaster, nor overall is it a bad film,
You actually stated neither prior to this sentence. You did say it "fails consistently throughout".
