I feel like the only film I want to support is King Kong, and I haven't even seen it. The others have become so uninteresting, even if I was offered a free ticket, I'd still probably pass on them.

I've only seen 8 movies this year, so yeah, I've been a little dissatisfied.

If only Sin City could be nominated for Best Picture...

Truth be told, I wasn't entirely satisfied with last year either, although I did like M$B a lot and was glad it won. But my heart was with The Incredibles and Spider-Man

I'm not really dissatisfied with the nominees or how the awards season is going because this year was pretty much crap compared to last year.

But if you ask if we're disappointed with this year's overall movies... then YES!

When was the last time you were very sastisfied with the choices, Box?

It is unfortunate that Sin City, one of the most ambitious and stylized films in recent memory, can't even get a sniff. Mickey Rourke was probably the best performance in a supporting role this year. The best that it can hope for is some ensemble awards or mentions in various awards. It was a critical and box office success and a very original film, but I guess that's not enough for 99% of the movies not released in the final 2 months of the year.

Sin City was horrible.

Daniel Radcliffe should've been nominated for best actor and the Hungarian Horntail for best supporting actress.

I was very dissatified with this year, the 40 Year old Virgin was the first film i saw from 2005 that I'd watch a second time, after that I;ve been omre selective and seeing Good Night and Good Luck, Pride and Prejudice and A History of Violence, those films did not disappoint.

It till August for me to see a decent film, but lsat year was similar.

Sin City was beautiful shot but also a terrible film.

I'm dissatisfied that the movies seem to kind of be "narrow" this year when some of the most important films of the year were well liked, well reviewed Blockbusters. The drama Globe nominees won't total up to more than 150 million at the BO likely, meaning not a lot of people will have seen them.

But the movies that are nominated at the Globes seem like they should be pretty good (or are good, for the ones I have seen).

I mean, they didn't nominate Memoirs, even though I was convinced they would, so that's a step up in my respect level for them!

Yes, I agree and I lament the ho-hum feelings that most of these movies have given/or are yet to give me. Particularly overrated are A History of Violence and The Constant Gardener, both good movies, but nothing spectacular. But tomorrow could see the start of a phenomenon that may see King Kong back into the race and following that we get Munich and The New World.

Yes it is a boring year. I'd support P and P if it had a chance but we all know it doesn't.

To answer Lecter's fair question to Box about what did make you satisfied, I thought Saving Private Ryan vs. Shakespeare in Love was a decent year, as well as L.A. Confidential vs Titanic even though I'm not a big Titanic fan.

You can support Keira though because she has a chance.

I think it's a fairly diverse award season.

Documentaries have been great...

I think it's safe to say this Oscar season has and will be like no other.

Docus is the best category this year.

Yes, but this is the Academy a great documentary or animated film, they are lucky to be nominated in their won category, aka Grizzly Man.

It would be nice if some of these awards recognized the docs are being superior to narrative film.

It would be nice to see Penguins nominated for Best Picture actually.

The problem there is Grizzly Man won't be nominated for Oscar. But otherwise the category looks good.

Yeah that sucks, but it's okay because there are at least 7 great docus.

I'm happy with this year's contenders. We've got a wonderfully diverse selection, compared to last year. 2004 was terrible, especially for the Oscars. Upon revisiting Sideways was only above average, Aviator a huge disappointment, and M$B damn mediocre. I stand by that... and I'm feeling refreshed this go around, at least at this point. Lot's of unusual projects are ready to be released and I've got back a sense of excitement I lost for last year's shows.... it's no secret that this is my first year (since I started coming to this parts in 03) that I've taken an interest in the awards. This seems like the first year in ages worth talking about.

I'm VERY happy with the Globe noms.

I expect, as usual, to be very unhappy when the Oscar ones roll into town.
