The topic should be titled "Can Aeon Flux top Yours, Mine, and Ours?" instead

Aeon Flux is its own worst enemy.

It looks like garbage.

It's also a case where the more you advertise the film and its trailer, the more turned off people are. It's a film that can't be saved.

Actually, this thread was just supposed to be a spoof, and not realistically supposed to happen. ;) Yet its gotten more replies than I would have expected.

I think the TV spots look pretty neat, but they're kinda absurd if you think about them. (Killer grass??)

I think around $11-12 million is what it will open with.

This very much reminds me of Elektra. A solid premise completely slaughtered. I think it will open to about 9-10 million and be forgotten the next day.

MTV is advertising the hell out of it, to no surprise. I watched MTV at a friend's house today for two hours, and saw the commercials eight times. I'm not even joking.

My friends want to see it, surprisingly. But, I can't imagine anything over Elektra.

Looks like it was generally underestimated. I see a huge 65+% drop this weekend, though. Should finish with just around $30 million, maybe slightly less.

Aeon Flux will not be appreciated till the initial wave of anti-hype passes. Then true hard sci-fi lovers will gather and laugh at the naysayers of 2005...
