I'm being realistic. The film didn't even make 1 million. I still snuck in a best supporting actress nom. But if it were 100% up to my own volition, scope and coverage and distribution be damned, I'd throw it in for screenplay, direction, and another acting award too.

I dont know why you have to be realistic...isnt this just for OUR picks for the best of the year?

Pretty sure the point of the thread is to include EVERYTHING. If Dakota Fanning in WOTW is your favorite actrss of the year - include her!

Yeah, but as Kypade has said, these are our personal picks, no predictions. If these were predictions a double nom for Broken Flowers (Picture/Director) would be just as impossible ;)

I think I need to see this one again. I had an extraordinarily good night when I saw this, and wasn't as focused on the movie as I could have been. What did you think about Elephant? I can completely understand why some people would hate those movies. I'd do a crummy job of summing it up myself, but I thought The Oregonion's review of Last Days nailed my thoughts on it: http://www.oregonlive.com/movies/oregon ... thispage=2

I still haven't seen nearly enough to make my list, but I saw Hustle & Flow earlier today and I'd definitely put Terrence Howard as Best Actor.

It's a real toss-up between Knightley and Witherspoon, but I gave the edge to Knightley because she mostly carried Pride & Prejudice on the basis of her performance.

Well, that gives me another reason to go see it. (the other reason is Dame Judi Dench  , of course!)

You should see it for both reasons - KK & Dame Dench - I thought her small role and couple of scenes were very powerful - as good as her Oscar winning best supporting actress role in Shakespeare in Love.

Just FYI - I am not saying that she in Oscar material as I thought both roles were too small to win.
