Cheaper By the Dozen 2 - $25,574,033 in 7 days
Cheaper By the Dozen 2
...
Yours, Mine and Ours came out this past weekend. It had no draw, no teen appeal whatsoever, no buzz, shitty marketing, and some of the worst reviews of the year. It seems like it was destined to bite the dust. It grossed 24 mil 5 day, a great number. This ties in with similar films like Daddy Day Care and Christmas By the Kranks performing just as undeservingly well.
Now we have Cheaper By the Dozen 2, which compared to YM&O is a giant. Its a hotly anticipated sequel, it DOES have a drawing force, it DOES have teen appeal. It also has an interesting enough premise, the addition of Levy and Electra, and a pretty good trailer that got great reactions all across the crowd reports.
For competition its mainly going against Fun With Dick & Jane, but in the holiday season it is proven that films like this can coexist. CbtD 2 is getting a wack of kids that Jane won't be getting anyways. It also has Rumor Has It opening on the Sunday, but that shouldn't make all that much of an effect.
I'll put this undercutting Fockers a bit at 180 mil, which is still great. I don't see why it can't do the same thing that movie did last year, except for 2005.

It'll cross 100 million but I'm not ready to say that it'll cross 150, let alone 180. It looks rather dumb and haphazardly constructed.

No dude, just no. And everytime I've seen the trailer there's been silence.

Worst. Prediction. Ever.
The appeal of the first one was how unique the setup was. There hadn't been a family comedy like this for quite some time. It was a cute movie, yes, but the family was pretty unmemorable. I don't think it will cross $75 million.

Meet the Parents had great WOM. I'm certain that CBTD did not grow a fanbase.

Yeah, Meet the Parents had some outstanding WOM.
I see around $100-120 million total, at most.

meh, the film looks like such a radio active steaming pile of toxic turds, but the reaction it got from the kids at my theateer during Potter both times was intense, I see a domestic total in the 120m-140m range, sad that ultimate shit like this will most like gross so much.

God no, no way. The success of YMO has made me believe that this one won't completely bomb, I can even see $80-90 million for it now, but $180 million? NO WAY!

No dice.
I see somewhere between $90-110M.
It has more competition than the last one did. Not to mention it looks even worse.

Nope. This years Meet the Fockers is Fun with Dick and Jane. Cheaper By The Dozen 2 will get to $100m, but barely like $105m.

No way - I doubt this will even make $70m.
Yours Mine and Ours will actually hurt it.

Shack, I'd love to hear some more of your arguments for this being the next Meet the Fockers. I doubt you would have started such a thread unless you believed, so put some blood, sweat, and tears into this thread, and convince the rest of us.

I don't think that any argument would convince me of that. I mean....it's Cheaper by the Dozen! It doesn't have a huge fanbase and by the time it's out Narbia will still be going pretty strong and as for comedies there will be Fun with Dick and Jane...
