But who really is to blame for watching the show and spurring on their work?

Still the best show on tv now. I think last episode was the weakest this season, so I'm hoping this week's will be pretty good. There is alot of potential. Though summing up ~40+ days in 48 minutes doesn't bring a twinkle in my eye!

Survivor has been summing up 24-27 days in 42 minutes for a few years, I'm sure Lost can pull it off.

The big problem with the last episode was they completely relied on the closing minute to sell the episode. If it wasn't for that one minute, the episode would have fell under average anyway.

I'm wondering if losing the two youngest cast members will affect the audience demograpics, will hurt it a little with teen/college aged viewers. Well not counting Walt and Aaron of course. I can understand them killing Shannon but the reason they gave seemed odd.

By the way I loved it last week when you all did a running real time commentary. If enough are around, might want to again since it seems to be another major episode.

Damn, Ana's a cunt.. and I saw that Maggie Grace was credited. I assume they'll be replaying her death from a different angle, perhaps Ana's pov.

All Ana needs is some black leather, a whip, and some handcuffs. She's so not nice.

Pretty interesting episode, although I could have done without those last 5 minutes of mini flashback of last week. Anyways, I'm sure this has been said before, but it seems to be when whats his face (the other infiltrating them) that they only took the "good" ones, it gave me an idea. It seems to me that all the people on the other side of the island and the ones left here seem to have a pretty shady past or have done something wrong in life. Jack bailed out on his father and left his wife, Kate is a con, Sawyer killed a guy, Claire wanted to give up her baby, Charlie is a drug addict, Shanon and Boone slept with each other and I'm sure there's stuff with the other ones too that we just haven't seen yet. I believe the others are trying to start some sort of utopian society, with only the good and pure of heart, including children, who are innocent and not yet corrupted by evil. That's just one of my wild theories.

Hmm. I didn't really like that episode. I didn't like the way they handled the moving from one day to the next. The screen just goes black and pops back on after a second or two.. I don't think that was effective. Although I don't suppose they could have done it much better. I also thought the story was a lot less interesting then it was advertised as. The little mini summary of their 48 days on the island that Ana-Lucia gave to Jin/Sawyer/Michael last episode described everything that happened, and I somewhat feel like this episode wasn't really needed. But, just my opinion :).

Next weeks episode looks *awesome.* And Jack is finally back ;) which will put a lot of you through misery, lol, but I'm excited. I esp. wonder how he's going to react to Ana-Lucia, especially after his head snapped up when Eko (I think it was him) mentioned her name. Don't care too much about what's going to happen with Sawyer and Kate (Not a fan of that little relationship). Although *spoilers* in Ask Ausiello, he did say that the love triangle between Kate/Sawyer/Jack was going to intensify. Here's the direct quote: "As we move into the middle run of episodes, we're definitely emphasizing the Jack-Kate-Sawyer romantic triangle. " But a spoiler revealed a few weeks ago also said that "There is a BIG KISS coming. Involving Kate and someone else. And it AIN'T Sawyer. And it's HOT. Not a dream. Not a flashback. Not a cop-out." (Kristin, E! Online) so I guess it has to be Jack because who else would she be kissing?

Next week is Ana-Lucia centric. Gag me. Seeing her cry today made me feel good.. it was nice to see that smug bitch in pain. But now we have to endure even more of her ass? Not fair. She just had a whole episode dedicated to her and her tailies -- shift the focus to someone else. If it has to be a tail end passenger, why not Eko?

It seems the producers underestimated the intensity of negative fan feelings towards Ana. I wonder if they will alter their plans for her once it sinks in. I don't think there's any redemption that will make her accepted by the audience.

next weeks episode looks pretty intense... Ana keeps going lower on my "i hate that chara" list...

on the preview what she does to Sayid just made me wanna quit watchin the show but I know I cant pull myself away...

I did like how at the begining we saw the teddy bear that Jin saw one of the "others" carrying in the jungle

I thought it was a decent show. It was nice to see the other perspective, and I'm glad they did it in one show instead of stretching it over several shows.

With that being said, I am starting to miss the main characters. We've hardly seen Kate or Jack at all for several shows now.

- Agree on above.

- Wondering since they did the extra 4 minutes fo a 64 minute show, I wonder why they couldn't also add the GMA special scene for a 65 minute show? Just a joke > has anyone ever scene those GMA are they just extra fluff or anything important.

- really hate Ana?

- so did Ana cut Sayid, hit the tree on purpose/accident, or kill Sayid?

- Jack didn't seem happy in the previews - about the death.

Very well-done, I thought.

Ana Lucia has a little more depth now other than just being total sneering bitch, I guess.

I want Bernard and Rose to reunite! That will be so sweet.

Some random impressions. Babble warning. Nitpicking warning. ;) Also I mention stuff that is show in the preview for next week's episode.

- It was more straightforward than I expected, as someone above said it was pretty much just a visualization of what they already said happened. I didn't mind the going dark between days part though, that worked.
- Ana Lucia, I dont know if it's the character or the writing or both but she doesn't belong on the show, it just feels like a different show when she's around. I think it's that she basically seems like a character off one of the 563 cop shows already on the tube. I would like her surgically removed from the show please, asap.
- I'm missing Charlie and Claire being more important and the last two weeks no Kate and Jack. Charlie and Claire's romance might be sometimes icky but they used to be central characters and now seem sidelined.
- Goodwin was well acted and his part well written, good job there.
- I didn't notice anything about Eko's branch, other than he inscribed something on it we couldn't read. The actor is very likeable but again, not sure he fits in with the feel of Lost up till now.
- Libby just screams "others". Clinical psychologist, has that New England look many of them have, she's about the same age as Goodwin.
- Both the front and tail section have an unusual coincidence of things happening to them. People miraculously survived, were infiltrated, found fresh water and food a little ways inland, found a radio, both sides found a hatch/door. It more than ever appears they are being fucked with some way, mind games being played on them, tested. In that context, the stealing of children makes more sense, some sort of warped desire to take them out of the experiment maybe? To protect them from what is being done to the survivors? Just a possibility.
- In next week's preview, what the hell is that room Jack is in when he says Shannon is gone. Rewind and look at that again, they are in some sort of modern living room. Dream sequence? What do you all make of that?
- The show is more than ever about redemption. Everyone has their thing they did wrong they want to atone for, and now Ana has hers. My Name is Lost.

i liked the episode well enough, i thought that it was interesting. i am not anticipating jack's return next week, i have enjoyed the break, though i am glad that he is angry about Shannon's murder. I am really looking forward to the aftermath of what ana did. and from the previews it looks like ana gets a hold of Sayid's gun, as her was out of bullet. i am quite certain that she doesnt hit Sayid with that thing she has, she cuts him lose from that tree for sure. and i dont like that they tie Sayid to a tree, he should be allowed to beat ana senseless at least.

Well... I didn't quite loathe Ana-Lucia before, I was sure that there was more to her then we were seeing, and this episode is proof. Very well done, and although it may not feel "nessecary" now, I'd have much rather had this episode then not.

one other thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned.

- the others took people that were noted on a list with exact mention of who they were and clothing etc. and then we still have the boat people that took Walt.

With the detailed list, that makes the others more than just the savages that they have been otherwise portrayed.

I think that's in the Hatch. Remember the room Jack and Locke watch the orientation film in?

another thing that I just thought of > Ana heard the wierd noises which was right after Shannon saw Walt??

Are the noises, machine made and the people are real or is there a supernatural efferct to these 2 incidents.

It was clever how they turned around my expectations of Goodwin. In last week's episode when they showed dead Goodwin I thought they meant he'd been killed by the others so I was primed to feel sorry for him.

So we have a US army knife and people who hide on an island. Vietnam era deserter refuge gone wrong?

Yeah I think military experiments is the consensus at the moment but I was trying to think of something different to add to the list of possibilities. :)
