The third best Star Wars Film, second best ending, best storyline however.

Elizabethtown - I liked it, sue me...

Yes, it has its share of flaws (it feels unfocused in its first 2 thirds... and Crowe used WAY too much music this time... which can be a bad thing, you know.. when there are 35 songs in a 2-hour movie...- I didn't count them btw, I just read it in a review  )

I'd personally cut down the whole subplot involving Drew's cousin and his father and son and reduce them all to short appearences just like the rest of the family (even if the whole demolition video is hilarious and it's hard to cut it, it belongs in a deleted scene for the DVD release, I think); short down the whole discussion between cremation vs. burial and cut completely a subplot involving Bill Banyon's character, just to make it more focused (and less disjointed)... and remove a few songs, of course.. (not Elton John's "My Father's Gun" for instance - that one was well placed, I think.. for the 2 times it was used)

But I wouldn't touch Susan Sarandon's 10-minute memorial service speech (which isn't getting the recognition it deserves, unfortunately  )... that was one of the most brilliant moments in the movie, imo.. along with the suicide attempt, the phone conversation and the final road trip

It's really one of those cases when the whole is less than the sum of its (brilliant) parts.. but the whole is still highly enjoyable..

Crowe's worst (haven't seen The Wild Life, heh), but it's still better than most of the movies coming out every week...

7/10

The road trip felt like an episode of THE AMAZING RACE.

Wow, what a performance by Charlie Theron. My expectation of her performance was pretty high given she won so many awards with it, and I had my doubt that maybe it's more because of the transformation than the actual performance, but she indeed pulled it off. Ricci was miscasted however and made you wonder how a kid like her in the movie could fall for Charlie.

I found Ricci to be underrated.

Bewitched-B

I liked this movie more than most people here did, and it didn't even lower down on the 2nd viewing.
