The one without "www" was working a moment ago (http://worldofkj.com), but now it no longer works either.

ive been using the ip since last time. :O

i checked the old problem. so far, it is not pointing at that being the issue. but slowly, everyone is losing access. i've emailed support.

I just got some technical support. They asked me to make a change which I just did.

Turns out for the change to take effect, it could take upto 24 hours. Till then, use the IP. I would mass email but our smtp also goes down during this time.

I just got onto the wokj main url so it looks from my end that it is fixed already. GJ baba, I knew we kept you around for some reason or other.

When this happens it's impossible for me to log in. The alternate URL works for accessing the main page if I wanted to read articles but the only way I can actually log in is the proper http://www.worldofkj.com and then hit forum, and then log in. Been like that ever since the last time this happened.

It's working ok (the url) for me. Is the problem fixed? Do you think it has to do with that guy that was doing all the mean user names too?

Here's what you can also do to access World of KJ by actually using the URL:

Open Notepad.

Go to File->Open...

Make sure that the "File of type" drop-down box on the bottom reads "All Files" and not "Text Documents"

Depending on your system, browse to the following folder:

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS

Open the file called "hosts"
Add the following two lines on the bottom:

72.36.130.178 http://www.worldofkj.com
72.36.130.178 worldofkj.com

Go to "File->Save as..."

Again, make sure that the "File of type" drop-down box on the bottom reads "All Files" and not "Text Documents" and that the file name reads "hosts" and not "hosts.txt". Save the file.

You should now be able to access worldofkj.com without using the IP address.

Please note, that should World of KJ ever change the hosting provider, the IP address for the site may change, and you won't be able to access the site afterwards. My suggestion is to delete the two lines from the hosts file after the current issue is resolved.
