This thread is in regard to the recent “fight” between Maverikk and Snrub.

First let me say, that as administrators of this forum, Scott and I are very leery of taking any harsh actions towards members. After all, this forum is for the users, and not for us.

With that said, the recent hostilities prompted for some action to be taken. The fights are a poison to the forum; a number of threads had to be locked, stifling any fruitful conversations that was going on there.

It is obvious that Maverikk and Snrub cannot reconcile their differences. However, I don’t think that the rest of the forum should also be dragged into the fight every time something happens between them.

Snrub: I, and other moderators, have asked you in the past not to bait Maverikk in your posts. You have refrained for some time, but you went back to it yet again. This is unacceptable. Should this continue, tougher measures will be taken. That includes (but is not limited to) removing your posting privileges for a week.

Maverikk: I understand that it is hurtful to be constantly called out in the threads by Snrub (and sometimes by others). But please remember, that by responding in like manner you’re only fueling the flames and hence the conversations get even more out of control. Please refrain from insulting members in threads again (even if their user name is Snrub).

To both of you: you are both very valuable members of the forum, and I very much desire not to deal with this matter anymore. I especially do not want any other moderators involved in this; they have enough on their plates, they do not need yet another fight to take care of. So please, refrain from making comments about each other, if not for your opponents’ sake, but for ours.

For what it is worth.... I have to agree with Archie and El_Maksed_What's_His_Name.

While I only observed one party acting really, really poorly, I do believe at the very least they should receive a similar warning. You tell Snrub that there will be "tougher measures... That includes (but is not limited to) removing your posting privileges for a week". Whereas with the other individual, you simply ask politely to stop with no ramifications if it continues.

How is that fair, especially when the bulk of the really nasty insults and language that I saw came from the one you ask nicely with no consequences if he continues? Especially when it is a repeated pattern of behavior that has been allowed by this site to continue, and that person acknowledged himself he is not good for this site and at one point asked to be banned.

It's very frustrating to have to put up with this pattern of predictable behavior for a great number of members here.

Krem, for what it's worth, and since predictable behavior has been brought into question, maybe you can tell Tony how I told you that he would decide to "add his two cents" and do his tired routine of blaming me, when you and I both know, as do the moderators, that you didn't come to any decisions like this without plenty of proof presented to you in the form of link after link of unprovoked remarks. It doesn't surprise me, as you well know, since I told you that he would come off with this same old shit, but I am glad that he did it this time, because it allowed you to see it for yourself, just as I described it.

Tony has constantly done the same thing, running my character down, and then whining when he gets anything said back to him. He's been a constant troublemaker, as this post proves, because you and I both know there was an agenda at work when he started typing. Hell, even after loyal and I buried the hatchet, something that he claimed to want very badly in a PM that he sent me, he decided to try to keep the trouble going after it was done, by running my character down as if he even knows me, and tried to convince the world of my evil intentions and how I was to blame for the world's troubles.

Perhaps you can explain to Tony, who is exhibiting the very predictable troublemaking behavior that I discussed with you days ago, that I came to you and bABA and other mods about this situation without ever saying a word, and didn't even say a word when Tony (and others), in predictable fashion and complete ignorance of the situation (like this time) decided to run his mouth that I was the reason that torrino was demodded. He also is very ignorant to the reasons why I posted that thread that I should be banned, but he'll post as if he has a clue, because it gives him ammunition in his mind to cause further trouble and lay more blame on me that doesn't exist.

I'm not mad about it this time, though, as I was actually counting on him to do this, and that's why I explained it to you and others to be on the lookout for him to do this, so you would indeed witness it for yourself. If you would like, I can gather up the numerous times where he has done this in the past, and then he can cry to you about how it's my fault and I have powers here and it's all my fault, even when the proof will show otherwise.

For anybody else in question of this situation, I think that all of you should know that Krem and I aren't close and hardly know eachother, and this is not a situation where favoritism was shown. He's just being a fair man in this situation, and unlike Tony, he's not completely ignorant of the whole story, and it's actually pretty offensive that Tony is continuing to be a broken record. If he's not complaining about Scott locking a thread, he's complaining about me, and it's a very tired act. Tony has also admitted that he likes sticking his nose into situations where it doesn't belong, and told me that he knows he shouldn't because it makes the situation worse, yet, in predictable fashion, he has done it again. Would anybody call that anything other than a troublemaker?

I was on when the fighting was happening. (IMO, a lot of it was tongue-in-cheek and very funny)

However, I know that Krem's decision is very inappropriate and unfair. Both parties should be given the same sentence as Maverikk did start the fighting in the first place and had a lot more to say than Snrub.

I like both posters anyway, so they can keep on fighting. Because it was funny. (Yes, this sentence is inappropriate)

getluv, you do realize that Krem was shown where the fighting started and is well aware that it didn't start from me, right? If you are going to make that kind of accusation, buddy, I would have to ask that you present the link, and trust me, I have links on hand that will show you how much you actually don't know about who started and how it started. Krem and the mods know, and as he even said himself, they had talked to Snrub about this in the past.

For the record, I don't hold anything against Snrub. I mean, I don't hate him or anything, I just wanted this stuff to stop for a long time, and didn't want the situation to blow up like it did, and Krem and the mods are all aware of that, because I came to them about it, they knew it was getting to a boiling point with me and my patience was being tested, and I viewed it as a situation that my lack of response was being viewed as a weakness that encouraged him to continue with the unprovoked remarks. I did everything I could do to prevent the situation from becoming what it became, and went through all the proper channels, and I'm sure Krem, bABA, and Libs would all confirm the amount of restraint that I continued to show until it all finally blew up. Krem told me not to insult anybody anymore, I agreed, he knows that I didn't do it until much provocation, and I'm sure he trusts that I'll come to him and show restraint next time and I trust that he'll handle it. I can guarantee you'll never see me starting anything, and I can guarantee you won't be able to show where I did this time. I come here to talk movies and stuff, not to provoke fights.

the way i'm reading it, both pretty much seem like warnings to me .. with one being told what would happen as opposed to both.

Thing is, though, he says all of this is in regard to the "recent “fight” ", between them. Then he goes on to tell Snrub he "went back to [bait Maverikk in his posts] yet again." And that if Snrub continues this baiting he will be tempbanned. If you read the "recent fight" between the two, Snrub did NOT bait Maverikk. If this thread is about ALL of their fights, then that should be made clear; if it is about the most recent one, the sentence is clearly not very fair at all. If they are both warnings, they should both be told the consequences of their continued actions. Otherwise it just looks like youre threatening Snrub, and warning Maverikk.

In the past week, the situation has occurred more than once. The "recent fight" encompasses more than just the bendar thread.

I guess my point, is simply that this thread appears very leaned and should perhaps be...i dunno... clarified some.

First thread: Go a page back. My issue is how it started considering i've heard the admins have requested for that behavior not to take place.

I can certainly understand if the comments seem one sided though as only 1 was told about the consequences. I'd leave it upto Krem to elaborate on them but the way i see it, i think continued behaviour from either of them would lead to consequences now ....

This is a forum. Its entire purpose is for people to come and voice their 2 cents on an issue. Any issue. Whether it sounds like a broken record is irrelevant. I see the same displayed in the box office section where many including you have displayed the same attitude and pretty much the same post again and again and again.

What Tony wishes to comment on is his right here in this forum.

I'm at work at the mo' so I'll have to make this brief.

My comments to Mav have always been fairly lighthearted affairs. If I'd made the comment in the Mr. Scott thread (for those who don't know, someone asked "who the fuck takes the internet seriously", and I said Mav - which he proved in subsequent posts) about any other member of these boards (Mr. X, say - he's a good whipping boy!), they would've laughed it off.

Mav on the other hand took to calling me "sister boy" a "fucking retard loser" who needs to "go get laid" in numerous threads. I admit I've baited him in the past, but at no point have I ever called him names or insulted him maliciously. I would like to think that the admins take direct insults more seriously than indirect, lighthearted jabs.

loadsa stuff has been taken out of context... and mav seems to get wound up very easily by it. whilst i'm not exusing snrubs comments i do think people need to chill a bit.- he does take the piss out of himself just as much if not more so than others and its all very tongue in cheek

This is no insult; but every time maverikk is involved in a moderated situation; the needle always swings to him. Everyone notices it. But what can we do about it?
