Post 'The Apprentice' Thread
I'm surprised nobody has started this yet. Well the Apprentice: Martha Stewart starts tonight and The Apprentice starts tomorrow. I guess we could keep discussion of both in the same thread. I'm pretty interested in seeing what Martha's version will be like.

I have no interest in Martha Stewart's Apprentice.

I'm definitely watching this one, though. Just started.

Melissa was probably one of the most annoying contestants ever. Would that woman shut up?

Also seems like Martha's Apprentice has bombed. I blame it on the absolute stupidity of NBC by putting pretty much the same show on, one day after another. It just makes no sense. Martha should have had this season, then in January, Trump could have had his season. Martha's version seems to have a different feel, but I like it overall, although her catchphrase is pretty moronic.

Good episode.

Melissa is a biatch, though.

I just couldn't respect her as a success story after her being in jail. Sure, she's rich and successful in business, but look at where her business dealings landed her. Trump doesn't have a prison sentence on his resume.

Wow, I don't think I've seen an Aprentici dig him/herself a grave like Melissa did last night. It's like she was excersising (pun intended) tips from some how-too manual on getting yourself fired.

Was Melissa trying to get fired?

Anyway, I think this show has become incredibly trite. I don't think it's awful, but I just don't find it that fun to watch anymore. And Trump still annoys the crap out of me.

And Martha's show was even worse. Not only does she not seem to have a firm grasp on doing this whole thing, it's just EXACTLY the same as Trump's version, only her catch phrase is worse and she writes a letter at the end.

Um, she doesn't have a catch phrase.

And her show is far more casual and less drone-like. I agree with your all comments on Trump's show, but I found Martha particularly entertaining.

PEACE, Mike.

No?

For some reason I thought the "You just don't fit in" was her version of Trump's "You're fired."

I'm gonna blame it on an article I read.

I think Martha's version works if you're a Martha Stewart fan. If not, than yeah, it kind of dosen't leave much of an impression.

As for Trump's, I think the show has become a bit boring, but for some reason I remain optimistic about the cast. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Clay (the gay guy) copes in the environment, since this show has a bit of an anti-minority vibe.

My favorite contestant this year so far though is Alla. After having to endure the summer of Jannelle on Big Brother 6, it's really refreshing to see a woman truly possess both beauty and brains. ;)

Marthat Stewart was a big improvement over last weeks. She showed some toughness this week, which is much better than the happy, cheery Martha. Jim is such an ass and is quickly becoming one of my least favorite contestants. (Although it does make for good TV)

Yeah I noticed it too. It's obvious that Martha is trying to cover up her impacience for stupidity and control-freak tendancies, but we saw them bubble up a bit which was rather amusing.

Markus is pretty useless, but Chris did make a boneheaded move. Deserved to be fired after that.

Matchstick is just filled with a bunch of morons. Why don't you take a freaking trolley to transport the cake? Shawn was digging her grave, right at the beginning of the episode. I actually think that Martha's version is improving. If Martha can show a bit more of the control freak that she really is, it would be great.

My jaw dropped last night when Clay asked George if he could give them some insight on what it's like to be an old prune. (Ho! That was priceless) I'm glad Randal and Mark confronted him about it later....but we could have done without Markus' 'turd' metaphore.

And, um, note to party 'planner' Jen W: it's spelled T-E-C-H-N-O...and pink and blue baloons do NOT go well together. Honestly, I had no idea this girl even existed until tonight. The fact that she even got "hand picked" by Trump himself is baffling considering she's seems like such a wuss.

Really solid episode tonight. Probably best of the season. We got to see a bit of the bitchy side of Martha, the task was good for once and the most satisfying firing so far this season.

Agreed. Corpsy Dawn HAD to go. However, Lindsey's soccer-mom gone corporate executive persona doesn't do it for me. Neither do the Matchstick children -- Jim, Dawn (oh nevermind she's gone!) and that guy who looks like he's 17. I guess that leaves Furniture Girl and that elfy woman as the only remaining Matchstickers who havn't made much of a negative impression on me.

And BTW, does anyone else often mistake Alexis for last week's loser (and major space-cadet) Shawn? There was a moment in tonight's ep when Lexy walked into a room and I was all like "oh dear God what is she doing ba...oh, phew, nevermind."

Trump's apprentice this year is kindof weak, I don't even watch Martha's.

Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral, Toral...

Oh Toral. Was there any doubt in anyone's mind that she was getting caned tonight? Even Becks couldn't bring herself to defend her. Oh well, I guess she can get back to her pompous life where she won't have to deal with "these people" and how "stupid" they are. Yeah Toral, just thinking of them gives me a "Blizzard Blister-ing" headache ;)

Toral just plain sucked. She didn't seem to do anything at all. All of these women are pretty inaffective and the only one I see having a shot is Rebecca. And with the way the show keeps on showing Randall in a positive light, I'm 95% sure he'll be in the final 2. That short guy seems like he has a good shot too, even though we haven't seen anything from him, good or bad.

I see Alla having quite a good shot actually. At least as of now. But yeah, other than her and Rebecca, the other women seem very inaffective.

As for the men, I hope you weren't reffering to Clay as the "short guy", because he's allready burned a lot of bridges with his teamates. I can picture him getting ganged up on in the boardroom when/if the men loose another task.

Clay doesn't have a shot in hell of winning. It's that really small guy that's pretty much non-existant so far. (His name is Brian now that I looked it up). The people that don't get much air time at the beginning of the show usually go pretty far. (Just look at Kendra)
