 All I wanted to do was chart the daily ratings. WHY IS MEDIA WEEK DOING THIS TO ME? WHY?!?!

Anyway, George Lopez is beating Martha. Nothing more to say, just stating the obvious to help me cope.

Veronica Mars managed to beat One Tree Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :2thumbsup:
I like One Tree Hill a lot, but Veronica is Veronica.

Lost is unstoppable this season. Freddie premiered fine. It will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

I have no clue what these things mean . Last week Veronica Mars had 2.6/4 and One Tree Hill had 2.8/4. Related had 2.2/3. But this week it's out of /3 for Mars and Hill, so I am not sure how much they dropped/went up. I know Hill likely didn't go up, but Mars might have.

Anyway, I'm glad Mars beat Tree Hill at least! I love both, but one is actually great and the other is more of a guilty pleasure. Plus, Hill is disappointing so far this season. Of course, Season 2 started out rocky too but got great after awhile.

w00t

Veronica Mars - 2.1/3

2.1% of all U.S. households (during that timeslot) watched Veronica Mars.
3% of households who happen to have their TV on (during that timeslot) are watching Veronica Mars.

Marc Berman apparently is a very devout Jewish guy.

These are from futoncritic. They always differ a lot from Berman. Yesterday Commander in Chief had 10.7/16 on futon, and in Berman's column the number was 12.8/18 and so on... Futon has fast nationals numbers, and Berman fast affiliate ones.

Yeah. the overnight fast affiliates from Berman are much larger because they only track big markets like L.A, NY, blah blah.

You can't tell from those. Berman, however, has preliminary numbers, from Nielsen I guess. They end up being a hundred thousand off from actual millions. That's why I don't like Zap2it that much - incomplete data.

The Nielsens are pretty shady. lol

Is it just me, or is that REALLY low for Law and Order? Was it a rerun or something? Kinda shocking if both CSI: NY and Invasion beat it.

Good for Veronica.

Invasion rose from 11.4m up to 12.0m this week.
But last week the early ratings said Invasion was on 11.8m; so expect the final rating to fall again.

Next week id expect 10-11m.

Hey, does anyone have the number of viewers for Veronica Mars in its first two weeks? According to TheFutonCritic, it's 3.1 million. Sounds good, but maybe not?

The week of 26. 09. 2005. - 02. 10. 2005
102 VERONICA MARS UPN 3.295 (million viewers)

The week of 03. 10. 2005. - 09. 10. 2005.
105 VERONICA MARS UPN 2.732 (million viewers)

It will be interesting to see how many viewers third episode got.

It's really quite low, but it's not helped by its abysmal Martha Stewart lead-in.

True, but I don't think it affected Law and Order THAT badly last week, did it? It was bad enough it was struggling to beat CSI: NY, and now it got beat by Invasion, which in itself, isn't doing so great, compared to its lead-in of Lost.

Bites for Tree Hill, but they've kind've been deserving the fall. As much I still love the show, they've made a few mistakes. Inserting Kevin Kliner, having continuity trouble with haircuts, etc. The episode yesterday was really slow and one of their worst, so I expect once they bounce back with a returning of some of their good characters they will with the ratings too. It's not like Related is beating it or anything, it's having a normal(even more than they should) retention drops, so its an even if slow WB night. Supernatural is doing a bit less post GG than Tree Hill was doing last year, with bigger GG numbers, if it was anchoring the night here I doubt it'd do much better. So its not that worrisome. As said before once Tree Hill gets a bit more into their game(with Bryan Greenberg and Emmanule Vaughier returning, along with Tayler forget actress's name) I'm sure it will pop back up a bit.

Article with, judging from Michael's early numbers, are the final:

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS' dramas showed a little spunk Wednesday, but ABC still owned the night with "Lost."

The new Freddie Prinze, Jr. comedy "Freddie" also got off to a reasonably good start for ABC at 8:30 p.m., improving slightly on its " George Lopez" lead-in and capitalizing on its proximity to "Lost." UPN was in the game at 8 p.m. with "America's Next Top Model."

ABC's 9 p.m. hotshot yielded an average of 21.7 million viewers and a 9.4 rating/22 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Lost" has cooled a little since it opened its sophomore season last month with 23 million viewers and a 25 share in adults 18-49, but it is nonetheless duking it out with CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and ABC's "Desperate Housewives" for the top rungs of primetime's 18-49 demo rankings.

CBS' freshman "Criminal Minds" (13.8 million, 4.2/10) moved the needle significantly from its past two airings despite facing stiff competition from ABC's 9 p.m. monster. NBC's "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" (6.9 million, 2.6/6) also inched up from the previous week, but not by much.

At 10 p.m., CBS' "CSI: NY" (15.2 million, 5.3/14) built on "Minds' " momentum to top ABC's freshman "Invasion" (11.6 million, 4.8/12) -- a noteworthy feat given "Invasion's" lead-in advantage -- and NBC's "Law & Order" (10.9 million, 3.5/9).

At 8 p.m., ABC led the hour with "Lopez" (8.8 million, 3.4/10) and the debut of "Freddie" (9.4 million, 4.2/11), which took its lumps from critics. NBC didn't do much business in the hour with the drama "E-Ring" (8.7 million, 2.3/7), nor did CBS with its comedy combo of "Still Standing" (7.5 million, 2.3/7) and "Yes, Dear" (8.8 million, 3.0/8).

UPN's "Top Model" (5.5 million, 2.7/8) continued its forward motion, growing from last week in all key measures and hitting an impressive 5.2/15 in women 18-34. Its 9 p.m. companion "Veronica Mars" (3 million, 1.3/3), however, is still struggling to hold on to that lead-in.

WB Network slogged through the night with lackluster turnouts for the dramas "One Tree Hill" (3.1 million, 1.4/4) and "Related" (2.6 million, 1.1/3).

Fox was in baseball zone again on Wednesday with regionally divided coverage of Game 2 of the American League Championship Series and Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. For the night, Fox averaged 12.6 million viewers and a 4.0/11.

Still, ABC had no competition for the nightly bragging rights with an average of 14 million viewers and a 6.0/16 in adults 18-49.

Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

Thoughts in a bit.

Ahem. Owned...if only by a bit .

Still Mars is also banking off the big Model lead-in, while Tree Hill is rolling off it's own anchor status. So technically Tree Hill is still winning in every way, but its getting closer...

-The fact that Invasion's numbers went up from last week while Lost's went down is promising that it won't go down below 10M, but that hardly makes up for the 47% audience loss from Lost. I still ABC will be patient, and wait until midseason or next season before transfering it away from Lost. Remember, it has the critics on it's side, and little pisses off critics more then a favorite new show getting yanked.

-Nice nubers for Lopez and Freddie. Nothing spectaculer, but much better then any of ABC's other sitcoms.

-WTF is up with Criminal Minds?? First week there, 10.6M. Second, 12M. Third, 13.8M?? Must be old people (Note how it's Adults 18-49 numbers are the same as Freddie, despite having 4.4M more viewers.

-Wow, L&O took a tumble, even though E-Ring and Martha both increased from last week!

-Baseball is way up from yesterday (9M to 12.6M) but still down from last year (15.2M).

-Veronica Mars is up from last week (2.7M to 3M). Nice.

-WB is not so hot, way down from last year. Meh.

Well, AI coming back at midseason will hurt it, but as long as it also hurts AI, I (Along with ABC) will be very happy.

Supernatural is doing over 5 million viewers per episode every week and managed to build from the premiere, while OTH dropped every week last year, according to Berman's archives. And GG premiered with much bigger audience last year (over 6 million), while this year it was under 6 million. OTH barely managed to overcome Veronica, but on a positive note, Veronica managed to build from 2.7 last week to 3 million viewers this week.
