It is almost time for me to resume work on the site. I would really appreciate any suggestions you guys may have regarding the website. The obvious goal is to bring in new faces, not only to the forum, but to the main site as well.

If you can think of anything that you feel may help in this regard, or any other suggestion, I would love to hear it.

Hmmm. Well I know there's monitors that go on low res or high res, etc, so I don't know if they all see the same thing I do, but if I had one suggestion for the main page, it would be to make it fill the monitor a little more. When I see it, its pretty small with alot of blank space around it. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

Oh, and I don't know if this is possible but it could ease tension everywhere if you designed a self-upload thread for box office analysis and reviewers, etc. That way we don't need to keep bugging you to put it up, or bug you to put up edits if we edit something afterwards and need to send a new copy in, and that makes less work on you, plus it gives everyone a change to know their work is being received when its relevant and not a week after the opening, etc.

Maybe if you gave access to contributers, or passwords or something, so that new people that want to help contribute can be easily put on as well? And it could keep the front page moving quicker. Like when news submissions were being done. Something new every day, or at least a few times a week.

Oh yes, and you should write some more romcom reviews Eagle. You're the reviewer who watched more of them, and it was kinda cute to see you get excited over Hitch!

I find the print on the main site small and hard to read.
It's been said by someone, either you or baba, that the Foreign/Indie section seems to attract new users more than other sections. Assuming I recall that right and it's true, you could make that site link and related headlines more prominent on the front page.
A more movie focused url would help. If the site were called Box Office Bash I just expect it would get more hits than World of KJ.

I know that might not be that helpful, some of those might be non-starters, but it's something to chew on. More later.

Personally I like KJs World of Movies, but Box Office Bash sounds like a good name as well for the site.

BTW, I wouldn't dramatically change the order of the name, its become kinda homegrown. But what Archie and Impact said, maybe add something to thr front. Like CinemaWorldofKJ?????

I checked on two different computers, and on one of them the size of the main site front page is much bigger, so Archie, you might be like my home computer which makes it alot smaller too. Maybe there'a setting change?

I wouldn't change the style of the front page though. Its come a long way, and I really like it. Think its well designed, not too busy, we should use that scrolling News Update more, and maybe one or two more pictures (like the portal page).

Also, in regards to the actual forums, I was thinking when people register that the confirmation email they get has the rules of the site along with a *please archive for future reference* sort of line. That way in the forums, except for maybe "The Site" we don't need to sticky rules in every forum. Makes the stickies section very cluttered and busy, and judging by the views they get, their more for mod/admin reference than anything. So yeah, I'd suggest doing away with them. I don't know what other sites do. But that weird site that guti posted has that many members and I looked thrugh some of the forums, and the rules aren't stickied in every one of them, etc.

Just tossing around some thought. So please disregard them at leisure since they're all small technical things, etc. Except for maybe the previous suggestion that people who want to submit articles be able to upload themselves so that we're not bugging you 24/7 everytime we notice a spelling error and want to change it, etc.
