I work full time (evenings) at Larsen Packers Ltd (A Maple Leaf Foods owned company).I am the senior night sanitation employee (no, not a janitor).Larsens is a full service food plant, meaning we do everything from killing the hogs ,straight thru to the finished processed products and the shipping of those products. The company employs about 550 people.$15 bucks an hour ,plus time and a half and double time , with overtime. We are currently negotiating our new contract,Night Clean-Up could be getting a decent raise (around $1.50 an hour...woohoo).I also own 2 duplexs (Im a landlord)

Sounds like you're going backwards in your career.

I commend people who are willing to do extra on the side or take that step of going into business for themselves. Its not easy, but if you don't mind working more then most people, it will pay off for you later in life.I work alot, but I have put myself in a position at 33 years old to be able to buy my third house soon. :good:

I work as one of the Cost Accountants at a top manufacturer of washroom equipment whose main office/factory is here in Los Angeles. I get paid SECRET with great benefits, guaranteed 40 hour pay a week, weekends off (unless needed for overtime), plus the opportunity to get crosstrained in other areas of the company.

re-reading this thread, kinda sounds pathetic that I'm still at burger king. But I can't complain about the pay. 8$ an hour will make you stay at that shitbox.

Don't ever feel bad about where you work.

I temoporarily have a good/fun/exciting job, but I've been three years without trying to even get a job at a burger place.

The worst thing about western society is that we place so much emphasis on occupation.

I start feeling bad for about a week while I'm working. Then I get my paycheck so I feel better for a week. And the cycle just continues after that.
