Man, just look at our wonderful top 3. Aren't they...

... wait a minute. Top 3?? What the hell?? THIS is our TOP 3??

Man oh man....

I miss last season. For me personally, between both Canadian Idol and American Idol, the Canadian Idol has the distinction of having both the best and worst seasons overall. The best being last season, and the worst obviously being this one.

PEACE, Mike.

Well, it seems like there is a groundswell of support happening for Melissa as these final weeks approach. I think people are getting tired of Rex (I guarantee he had the least amount of votes next to Suzi) and so Melissa probably has the win in the bag, thank god. Pretty ugly season, no doubt.

I don't know... don't forget, there's likely more of a female audience, and they seem to just adore Rex. God, I hope he doesn't win, though.

And, it annoys me that Sass (and any female, for that matter) can get away with calling Rex "Sexy Rexy", in a way that clearly shows her attraction towards him, but if Zach or Jake or Farley called one of the females sexy in THAT way, it would be frowned upon. I know sometimes singers are referred to as sexy for their image, but I have a feeling Sass just says it because she's attracted deeply to Rex. Ick.

I agree. What happened to the talent overload that we had last year? It seems that this year, we are left with all the rejects that didn't make it last year. It's sad that somebody who finished 6th last year (Elena), is better than any of the top 3 this year. I really hope that there isn't another Canadian Idol. (Although I may want to try out...)

Canadian Idol has NEVER come close to measuring up to American Idol standards, no matter what season. At least with me.

Damn, I was really hoping Suzi would squeak into the top 3 along with Rex and Melissa, but meh, she's been struggling to keep up for the past couple weeks.

BTW, who was in the bottom two with her?

I disagree. While this season has been horrible and the first was pretty mediocre, I thought last season was fantastic. The majority of the top 10 (with a few exceptions) had what it took to win. It probably ranks up there with Season 2 of American Idol as one of the best seasons, in my opinion.

And they didn't announce who was in the bottom 2. Just announced it with all 4 of them on stage.

Well, I obviously disagree with Cotton (do we EVER agree? Hehe. ;) )

But yeah, like I said, I think the 2nd season of Canadian Idol (aka. the last one) is the best Idol season out of both the American and Canadian Idol shows. Canadian Idol 2 had SUCH a solid top 10. It's amazing when I look back on it now. I thought at least 5 of the contestants from that season were all better than the each person in the top 3 of this season (Kalan, Theresa, Jacob, Shane, Elena), with 2 other fairly good ones (Jason, Joshua). I also thought it was best top 3 of any American or Canadian Idol season. The only person I REALLY didn't like was Kaleb (I'm not saying I loved everyone else to death, but everyone else was solid enough for me to admit they were good, and I loved 5 of them a lot). That is a record for me.

- This Canadian Idol top 3 sucks, and has had no stand outs except for maybe Melissa.
- The first season of Canadian Idol had a so-so winner (Ryan Malcolm), a terrible runner-up (Gary Beals), and craptacular contestants like Mikey Bustos (oh man... stupid girls...) and Richie Wilcox, and the overrated Jenny Gear.
- The first American Idol had probably the worst 2nd place winner ever. That is of course Just Guarini. Kelly Clarkson is still my favourite singer ever on the show, and I think overall this season is solid, but I would still place the 2nd Canadian Idol show over this.
- American Idol 2 had the terrible Corey Clark, Carmen Rasmusen, and Julia DeMata, plus the fairly poor Kimberly Caldwell. There's probably more I'm missing. Also it had Rubben Studdard, who I think is one of the worst winners. I don't like him at all. Although I can admit others obviously love him.
- American Idol 3 had John Stevens. Not only that, but John Stevens made it far. Enough said. There were other poor singers here, but he is one main reason to hate this season.
- American Idol 4 was not too bad. I love Carrie Underwood, and will admit Bo Bice is loved across the board. There's also the cool Vonzell. But there's Scott, who unbelievably made it to the top 5 out of a top 12 competition. Yikes. (Anybody remember his pissy, punk grandma in the audience?? LMAO.) Plus Anwar, who I didn't like, and Nikko. And the notorious Mikalah Gordon....

And a final disclaimer: This is all just my opinion. When I say people suck, it's me who thinks they suck, and is the reason why Canadian Idol 2 is the best season overall, in my opinion. Disagreement is bound to happen. That is all. Heh.

And to add, Canadian Idol 2 is the only Canadian Idol I would rank above the American Idol shows. The other 2 get last positions.

PEACE, Mike.

I don't know. If you where to measure the strongest season of Canadian Idol (the second one) against the weakest season of American Idol (probably the first), I still don't think the Canadian edition beats it. Tamyra and Kelly would have slain Kalan on any day of the week.

But yeah, just my two cents ;)

Oh and Mike, we do agree on one thing: the "wink" emoticon is craptacular.

We have consistently seen the American voters push these "dreamboats" far in their respective seasons. Just look at how far Justin, JPL and John Stevens made it with their obvious lack of huge talent. So imagine now if they had someone like Kalan on American Idol, who would get the teenage girl vote and the vote of people who were simply judging on good singing. He would have won on any of the four seasons of American Idol.

Shawn Ashmore looked like he was going to die of embarassment there :hahaha:

First Performance:
1. Aaron- Fantastic performance, best of the night. I really hope he makes the final 2. I wouldn't mind if he won either.
2. Melissa- Good job, nothing mind blowing though.
3. Rex- It wasn't good, but it wasn't gut wrenchingly awful (He saved that for the last performance ;) )

Second Performance:
1. Melissa- Another good performance. She really shows off the emotion. But I don't know why she doesn't have the fuller voice that she had for her first few performances (Concrete Angel, Alone, the one from top 10). I like her voice, but I like it when it's stronger.
2. Aaron- It was ok, a bit of a let down after his first performance. Should have sung If I Had A Million Dollars, would have really suited him.
3. Rex- A complete and total massacre. I couldn't stand it.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, REX PLEASE LEAVE! I can't bear to hear another performance from this guy. Although I think Aaron is out.

1st Performance

1. Melissa (awesome. Just awesome. The last line before the break in the song was perfectly said. She captures the frustration of the song; the edge. She not only looked hot during this song, but she sounded hot. It was just great to look at and listen to.)
2. Aaron (strong, emotional performance. Aaron is great at getting those emotional bits)
3. Rex (this was bland, dreary, and completely lacked musicality. I don't know what the hell the judges were thinking. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good).

2nd Performance
1. Melissa (This was perfect. Her voice was top notch. It was clear and sleek and perfect. The most mature performance I have heard on the show, and thus the most professional sounding. I wouldn't buy Aaron or Rex's CD, but would actually consider buying hers. Excellent final performance Melissa.)
2. Aaron (meh, it was okay I guess. Pretty bland. Not that interesting at all.)
3. Rex (this was utterly terrible. That's all I can say.)

Rex deserves to leave this week. He probably won't because the girls mush over him, but he by far deserves to leave.

Melissa better win this competition. Or else.

PEACE, Mike.

Melissa - 2 really good performances
Aaron - 2 ok/good performances
Rex - Fuck off and die :shades:

Canada, what have you done! Rex in the final 2 is torture. I can't bear it any more. Aaron has steadily been improving and I was really liking him. If Melissa doesn't win now I will be filled with rage. A murderous rage.

Jacob was pretty good tonight. Love the song. But why didn't Shane have a chance to perform on the show?

Casey? I mean, she got better and all, but seriously? I'd say Amber, Ashley, Suzi, Aaron and maybe Josh are all more deserving than Rex. I think Melissa has the win in the bag now. Anyone who is over the age of 16 despises Rex.

I actually think Rex will win it. He's not a great singer, but he'll probably have a decent career in Canada. But I dunno, if Melissa sings circles around him next week (which is a very great possibility) she could surprise.

Well, wednesday night was an utter disgrace. Rex was by far, by FAR the worst performer. There is no subjectivity here. Rex was terrible, and deserved to go. Stupid, stupid hoards of young girls voting for this asshole.

Urggh. Melissa better win, or else this will be an even more ridiculously terrible season of Canadian Idol.

I'm waiting for the season where Canada's votes AND the judges votes combine to determine who leaves. A 50/50 split.

PEACE, Mike.

DAMN YOU REX! DAMN YOU TO HELL! Of all nights to be good, he chooses the finale :censored:

First Performance:
1. Melissa- Good performance, but it wasn't great. The judges really dropped the ball on this.
2. Rex- Decent enough.

Second Performance:
1. Melissa- Fantastic vocals. Spot on every note. Fantastic.
2. Rex- Probably his best performance to date.

Third Performance:
1. Melissa- FANTASTIC! My favorite performance by Melissa. Blew Rex's version out of the water.
2. Rex- Another very good performance.

Overall:
1. Melissa

2. Rex

Unless Rex drops dead between tonight and the show, he has it in the bag and that infuriates me. The judges all brush off his singing ability, claiming the he's a "rocker", but with Melissa, one thing goes wrong and they jump on her about it. Tonight also seemed to be the perfect set up for Rex to win. He went last, had the judges choices last (which is always the best peformance 95% of the time). Even the song was tailor made for him (Even though Melissa did it better). If they had given him something like "Awake in a Dream", "Something More" or any other Idol song, he would have died out there. I'm so f*cking angry!

On a good note, at least the new Idol song is good and not like the usual trype we get.

EVERYONE VOTE MELISSA FOR THE NEXT 2 HOURS!

Are audios of tonights performances up anywhere on the net, so I could hear them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And I have already sent in several votes for Melissa. If Rex wins.... :disgust:

PEACE, Mike.

Thank freaking goodness Melissa won. I don't even want to think of how horrible it would have been had Rex won.

Go Melissa!!! Go AWAY Rex!!!
