A Sound of Thunder B+ - Yeah, the effects ranged from good (I actually thought all the futuristic stuff looked pretty neat, and even if it was at times obviously fake, very cool to watch) to pretty damn bad (while the baboon/ape creatures looked very good most of the time, the other creatures like the dinosaurs and uber eel were direct-to-video quality). But even if it wasn't that smart at times, there was never a moment the film didn't at least want the audience to love it, and although it resulted in some rather loony situations, it made the film very entertaining and interesting. I'd certainly put it above The Brothers Grimm, which was far more incoherent, noisy and boring.

Bride of Chucky.
Just as moronic as the first time i saw it, though i have a soft spot for bad horror movies. I don't "like" them, but they are very amusing. A part of me always hopes that the characters will grow brains and is dissapointed when they don't, but i have come to terms with that for the most part.

A light-hearted movie. They don't have much to work with, as in the script isn't that good, but the cast completley saves the movie. Every one of them warms you. Kidman, Ferrell, Caine, Carrell. Will Ferrell actually isn't funny whatsoever. He uses the same shticks, baffling, ripping off the Bruce Almighty scene, and so forth. But what I didn't mind him as was when he wasn't being a bafoon. As a loser who wants another life he somewhat shines, and the unorthadoxed chemistry between him and Kidman is what makes the movie work. They are in my mind in the best movie dating-angle pairing so far of the year. Though there hasn't been much movie-pairing couples thus far this year, this stands out as the most legit and genuine. They do it well and convincingly. Micheal Caine as the 3rd main character in the story as the father as always is on his game. The Iris/Endora was also up to par as supporting. And I actually liked Carrell. The movie fails to be all that funny, but its a light-hearted enjoyment with some great scenes between Kidman and Ferrell. I liked it.

Garden State

A+

Just saw it. It surpassed all my expectations, I'm blown away by how good it actually was. Zach Braff's directorial debuts has got to be one of the most impressive in history. Hes also a fine actor, along with Portman who instantly gave me one of my all time favorite female performances. The best female performance of 2004 I say. I can't believe they didn't give her a Oscar nom for this. From my view she should've won the award hands-down easily as the before mentioned frontrunner, and surprising noone by taking it. She was mindbending. Theres so much right with this movie. The insight, the dialouge and humor which holds up very well, the awkward moments that work. Its insightful, and so forth. It takes everything Lost In Translation set out to do and improves on it greatly by completley, knocking it out of the park. Bravo to Zach Braff.

A Sound of Thunder is werthy of a 6.4 outta 10 on the wertham scale. (For Peter Hyams, 64% ain't bad. The ape-lizards were kinda cool.)

It's decent. Definitely more of a court room movie than a horror flick, which I knew going in. Trouble is, I couldn't care less if Father Moore was convicted or not, as the movie doesn't really establish him as someone to care for. Any time we aren't flashing back to Emily Rose, it's just "meh."

The Dukes of Hazzard

Well, its pretty stupid and very UNfunny
im really amazed by the acting, this movie has one of the lamest plots and scripts of the year!
Everytime i see Sean William Scott, i see Stiffler Stiffler Stiffler!, that character will Hunt the guy’s career.
the only good thing is the 10 minutes of Jessica's Hotness :D

Definetly IMO one of the worst movies of the year!
