Guess Who - B

I'm surprised by how much I liked it. I don't like Kutcher very much but he's pretty decent here. Bernie Mac and Zoe Saldana are both great. Reminds me of Monster-In-Law, but this one got the parent/in law relationship a lot better.

The 40-Year-Old Virgin - B+

Very enjoyable, mainly due to Carell and Keener who are both wonderful.

Do the Right Thing-0/10 or F

Spike Lee is an asshole. Why didn't he just shout "I HATE WHITEY!" for two hours, rather than make this?

Amores Perros - A- (so close to an A, but not quite...)

I was kinda surprised, mainly due to the fact I heard it was very similar to 21 Grams... Not really. And while I did love 21 Grams more, this is a very impressive film. Clocking in at 2 and a half hours, it is surprisingly engaging. The whole cast is excellent.

Great production values, and I really liked a lot of the biblical implications early on in the film (Gabriel, cool character), but it loses sight of all of those fast, instead working hard to push the gun ante while carefully maintaining Keanu Reeves' cool cat demeanor. He's not bad here, per se, but the delivery of his lines is so awkward, it definitely approaches the proverbial Keanu performance. The monotone, 'I'll give you the finger' guy worked in The Matrix, but c'mon, dude. Shake things up a bit.

Oldboy

This was a real surprise to me, didnt expect to like it this much. Old Boy is a very handsomely made, stylish revenge thriller which has the feel of a David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club) movie. The production values are top notch; excellent cinematography and musical score, and a number of surreal, dreamlike scenes which create the kind of edgy, not-quite-real atmosphere which the best Asian cinema does so well.

There is violence in this film, and indeed violence which could be called gratuitous, but the surreal world inhabited by this story makes the violence less disturbing than than the kind of gangland unpleasantness seen in films about South Central Los Angeles or East-end London. This is a comic-book adaptation with a clear 'anti-hero', heroine and villain and it delivers a fantastic twist on the standard Hollywood revenge thriller ending.

A very good, very stylish, very twisted film; I'd love to see more like it.

Grade - A-

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - A

Just awesome. Seen it now for the 5th time or so and still love it. Depp's off voice is great. Some really funny lines in this movie. Sad that Depp and Del Toro didn't got any recognition for their great performances.

LEGALLY BLONDE 2..

Thank god for HBO. What a great movie. I prefer the first one over this one, but the first one got an A-. This one has much more of a comedic premise, but the first one is much more comedical, and has a better story.

After watching the end of the movie, I have one question, Wheres part 3?

Grade: B+

A Perfect Murder - B

Sahara was a fun movie the first time I saw it, but I was oddly bored the second time around.

A Perfect Murder was a well-crafted thriller with some nice performances. I liked it a lot.
