Well, I thought those three were rock posers and apparently Canada agreed. It's awesome to see Rex get a taste of the bottom 3 and no more Josh can only make the competition better.

A final three of all three girls is ideal right now for me. Don't like Rex, meh on Aaron.

I just knew in my gut that Suzi and Josh would be in the bottom two. Even though Suzi did a pretty good job last night, I had a feeling that the whole Joplin thing would just go whooosh over most people's heads. I'm glad she survived though, and hopefully with next weeks theme (the Guess Who) she can maybe do something more memorable.
As for the rest, I feel pretty indifferent about Josh. I thought his performance last night was good enough to give him another week, but meh, much crazier things have happened over three seasons of CI (not to mention the AIs). I'm a bit surprised to see Rex in the bottom three, however it's not as if he didn't deserve it, it's just there where others who deserved it more. And Melissa, well, she was safe and rightfully so.
Now, as we head into the final stages of the competition, I'll cross my fingers in hopes that Canada will do the right thing and purge Aaron and Casey from the show within the next two weeks. It's not that they're bad or anything (well...), but they are the only ones left that have absolutly no chance at winning.

Holy crap, Rex was in the bottom three!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the crazy girls voting can't keep him in until the very end, and hopefully a more deserving candidate will win over him!
PEACE, Mike.

I'm glad to see Josh gone. He was far too arrogant last night, and it sealed his deal. I also don't get the notion from the judges that Rex, Josh and Suzi don't need to win because they're likely to make it without winning, moreso than Aaron, Melissa and Casey. Who exactly has Canadian Idol been able to make successful so far? The winners aren't even all that successful.

Not much Idol talk since last week. Don't forget, tomorrow night is "The Guess Who" night on Idol. I thought it was The Who at first, so I was a bit disappointed. We'll wait and see how well they do.

I think the music of the Guess Who will suit most of the Idols and should be a pretty good night. And hopefully, Casey will do mediocre (not that good, but not bad), so that the voters won't think that she's in too much danger, then she'll get the boot

If I had to predict who goes home, even without seeing the show, I would say Aaron.

Is anyone else completely pissed like I am that this season of Canadian Idol (Probably the worst season) gets a CD while last season (the best) doesn't?

1. Aaron (wow... very well done)
2. Casey (good)
3. Suzi (blehh)
4. Melissa (blehh)
5. Rex (blehh)
Rex and Melissa were terrible. I don't know what was up with Melissa, but I LOVE her, and tonight's performance was such a disappointment. Rather nasal. Rex has no musicality whatsoever. Suzi was bland, didn't expand herself. Casey was pretty good, at least compared to the other 3. Aaron was REALLY GOOD. I really enjoyed his performance. That ending was awesome.
Tonight proves how crummy this season is. The only person who impressed me was Aaron, but he can be off sometimes too (this was his best week yet, in my opinion). Rex was bleh as usual. Suzi started off good when there were 10 people, but she isn't pulling away and bringing in the necessary big guns to impress. Melissa is not pushing herself enough. What's up with the nasal voice?
Casey has one of the clearest voices and possibly the best toned voice on the show. I'm starting to really like her for that.
PEACE, Mike.

This was the most meh night. Nothing really stood out. (Except for Aaron!)
1. Aaron- Fantastic performance! Really, really well done.
2. Casey- I never thought I'd see the day when Casey was better than Suzi, Rex and Melissa, but she did a good job tonight.
3. Suzi- She really needs to do something else. I'm starting to get tired of her strutting around the stage, doing the same thing over and over again. She really needs to do a ballad
4. Melissa- Ouch. She picked the absolute worst song choice possible. She sung it well enough though.
5. Rex- Started it out well, then, a big meh.
Bottom 3 will be Melissa, Suzi and Casey with Melissa out.

Damn, aside from me flip-flopping Melissa and Suzi, I would agree with your analysis completely. Suzi really needs to sing something slow to see once and for all if she can hold her own with something other than rock. You know, the whole rocker making it on idol is really wearing thin and these pretenders wouldn't even be fit to hold Bo Bice's jock for god's sake. As far as Melissa goes, she does seem to go from a fuller voice one week to a somewhat tiny and thin voice the next. She had a nice full voice for the Martina Mcbride song and on the big band song, but then it was thin tonight and when she sang Alone as well. However, she still has the best combination of voice and stage presence/charisma and deserves to win the competition. It's also nice to see you coming around on Casey. I knew when I first heard her that there was something to her voice worth remembering and tonight was probably her best performance. Those who were saying she couldn't sing after her first few weeks in the top 10, while praising trash like Josh and Rex, don't know what the hell they're talking about quite frankly.

1. Aaron - Even though it wasn't my cup of tea, he pulled it out. I was worried that people would think it would be too old fashioned and not edgy enough, but going by the crowd's and the judges' reactions, I think the audience at home will come through for him.
2. Suzi - I agree with Mike and laney that she needs to stretch herself musically because she's starting to run the risk of becoming redundante. Her appearance in the bottom two last week only made it all the more clear. However, with that said, her performance tonight was solid enough to earn a pat on the back. She's got stank and charisma to burn, and I love the experience she brings to knowing how to work the stage. So all in all, I liked it.
3. Casey - Casey just isn't contemporary enough for to think she really belongs here...or talented enough for that matter. True, she dished out a decent performance (especially for her standards) but I'm really starting to feel that she's in a bit over her head.
4. Rex - I've always -- for the most part -- felt like we're always getting half his potential. He's got pretty much the whole package, but he needs to start giving outsanding performances. Tonight was just very average for me. He also butchered the melody in certain parts.
5. Melissa - Everyone has an off-night every once in a while, and it was clear within the first couple of bars that this just wasn't going to work. It wasn't terrible by any means, it was just one of those performances that goes whoosh over everybody's heads. The type of performance that usually gets you botted from the show.
I predict that Melissa and Casey will end up in the bottom two, with Casey getting canned. If that's the case, than it's a bit ironic that she gets cut right after delivering her best effort. I guess she should be happy that she actually got the chance to make it this far though.

Well, Casey has been eliminated. How typical! She did second best (in most eyes; third best) last night, and got ousted. She's been improving every week, and got eliminated. Some can't do anything out of their range, while she has been doing different stuff (although I guess she is closer to the slow stuff).
It's not that I'm bitter, because I knew Casey's chances of final two were slim, let alone winning the show. But, I see Rex there, and wonder how he wasn't even in the bottom two. It bothers me.

Thank God Casey is finally out. Although, she has gotten better in recent weeks. If she had of sung like she did the past 2 weeks throughout the competition, I might actually be sad that she was gone, but she royally screwed up the first 4 weeks. I really hope Rex gets the boot next week. He just isn't as good as the other 3. And things are looking good for Melissa now. After last nights terrible performance, she wasn't even in the bottom 2! I think she may have a shot now.
P.S. I read that during final 3, the theme will be The Barenaked Ladies. WTF? What the hell are they thinking? Why not something a little better than Barenaked Ladies? Celine Dion night? Shania Twain night? Hell, I'd take an Anne Murray night over a Barenaked Ladies night!

The first night didn't really yield anyone of note, but last night's show had a few decent ones.

Well, I'm not really feeling any emotional response to who was voted out. Everybody seems to suck except for Melissa who has potential, but she has been disappointing as of late. So, I could have seen any voted out, and almost don't really care anymore. Wow. I never thought I would say that.
PEACE, Mike.

Wow, that was BAD. Horrible, I can't believe it's the top 4 and some are still singing like THAT.
1st Performance:
1. Melissa- Vocally, it could have been better, but it was fun and I enjoyed it.
2. Suzi- Same old Suzi. Pretty good.
3. Rex- Meh
4. Aaron-
2nd Performance:
1. Melissa- Best performance of the night. Good job
2. Aaron- He really excels at this stuff, pretty good. Lots of emotion
3. Suzi- Vocals were VERY shaky, but at least she sang a ballad. If only she sang it better...
4. Rex- That was an abomination on my ears. I was howling with pain and rushing to the mute button on my remote. One of the worst performances of the season. Just horrible.
Overall:
1. Melissa
2. Suzi
3. Aaron
4. Rex
I'm speechless. If Melissa doesn't win this show, it will be the worst Idol winner any Idol franchise has ever seen. Suzi and Aaron are good, but not winning material. Rex is just horrible. He's reminded me of this seasons Jason Greeley. I really liked him the first few weeks, then each week, I've begun to dislike him a little more until it becomes an outwright loathing of the person. I think Suzi is out. Don't really care much, this show has gone to the dogs this season.
And what's with Zach tonight? He was being a complete asshole the entire time and his comments are making less and less sense. And is it just me, or every time they judge Aaron, they somehow find a way to add in that he's overweight?

It's clear to me who is easily the best person left. That is Melissa. After last weeks crappy performance, she proved this week why she is the best. Still her performances were, compared to last season, still half ass.
Suzi was utterly terrible tonight. Rex nearly as bad. Aaron was okay. And Melissa was pretty good. Put that all together and you have the crummiest season of Canadian Idol yet! Terrible night at that.
1ST PERFORMANCE
1. Melissa
2. Rex
3. Aaron
4. Suzi
2ND PERFORMANCE
1. Melissa
2. Aaron
3. Suzi
4. Rex
OVERALL
97. Melissa
98. Aaron
99. Rex
100. Suzi
PEACE, Mike.

First off, I think Zack is being a little hard on the kids when he says that they all "massacred" Elvis' catalogue when he's been massacring the English language on a weekly basis for three seasons now.
Anyway, the rankings...
1st Performances
1. Melissa - Splendid
2. Rex - It was allright, although he could have done more with it. It was a bit Kareoke-ish at times.
3. Suzi - A bit of an off performance, but it wasn't as awfull as people seem to think.
4. Aaron - The whole Elvis thing -- plus his singing style -- made me feel like I was in some Las Vegas Casino lounge.
2nd Performances
1. Melissa - Beautifull
2. Suzi - I actually thought it was really good. There where some pretty obvious out-of-tune moments, but on a whole, I thought it was a very mature and well-rounded performance.
3. Rex - Well, he tried at least. He should be doing better though, I mean, considering he's probably still the front-runner at this point.
4. Aaron - Even though Rex sang a lot worse on his second number than he did, I still don't think Aaron is in the same league as the others. It was just too old-fashioned and cheesy for me.
If I had to predict, I'd say Suzi will get tossed tomorrow. She could be spared because of Zack's premature comment about her dismissal, but I doubt it. If I had to pick someone to get rid of though, Aaron would be that person.

It's really obvious that being in the bottom three (and bottom two last week) several weeks has taken a toll on Suzi. I think she believed she was the frontrunner, and being in the bottom spots has been taking its toll on her mentally.
Just my two cents. I still like her, but she just seems drained, and I blame it on that.

Melissa's second performance is the only thing worth mentioning from that horrid display.
Suzi finally sang a ballad and utterly failed with it.
Rex is dogshit.
Aaron is just meh.
Zach had every right to slam all of them tonight, cause, like, they SUCKED!

Suzi's out. I could care less. I just got tired of her style by the end of it. She couldn't do much out of her limited rock range. Would have loved to see Rex out, but it ain't gonna happen.
