 It sucks, I know. When it came out, I had a ton to deal with in school, and since I've finished high school, I notice other movies more. I kind of forgot ROTS. I'll have to check if any theatres near me are still playing it.

New Movies
I saw Bad News Bears during the day. It really wasn't as good as I hoped. The movie was okay, but it just didn't elicit too much excitement, almost at all. I found it rather dull. some parts of the movie just don't flow together. At the same time that it's a rude, crude comedy (it's not crude enough to go all the way) it also aspires to be have some moral value (in the end, not much of a valuable lesson). I'm actually a bit disappointed with Richard Linklater whose last film soon became my all time favorite film and the best film of the year (IMHO). Such talent as Marcia, Billy, and Linlater himself is not completely but somewhat wasted on a so-so effort.

I also just came from March of the Penguins. It was quite an interesting journey. Not much to say about this documentary; it was like video day in a bio class, but you do learn something and what you are seeing is quite interesting and quite extraordinary.

Grading Standard:
A+: Rarely handed out; suggests the movie is beyond the year and one of the best I have ever seen.
A: Solid movie, best of the year.
A-: Among the great movies of the year but either not quite up to the standard set by the leading films of the year.

B+: Above average. Those films that aren't among the greats of the year but offer something new, fresh, or somethingabove what an average movie would deliver.
B: The average entertainment
B-: Slightly below average because of one too many flaws or possibly great potential and ideas behind a semi-sloppy product; but still good enough for a last resort recommendation.

C+: Falls just below a recommendation, could be part of a genre in which it would be rated better, but on its own, it doesn't hold up as anything close to solid entertainment
C: Sloppy and messy work with not much innovation behind it or lacking serious creativity
C-: Just an aweful mess

D: Transcends being one of the worst of the year.

23. Assualt on Precinct 13 - 7.2
24. March of the Penguins - 7.1
25. Ong-Bak - 7.1
26. Stealth - 6.9 (what MovieDude said)

33. Be Cool - 5.8
34. War of the Worlds - 3.9
35. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - 2.2 (As a fan of the book, my biggest disappointment of all time)
36. Boogeyman - Negative 3.7 - One of the worst I've ever seen.

Very strong year so far except at the very top. Or maybe I've just been selecting the right films to view.

9+ - Extraordinary; one of the best I've ever seen.
8-8.9 - Excellent; one of the best of the year.
7.5-7.9 - I loved it.
7-7.4 - Solid film; good enough to buy on DVD.
6.5-6.9 - Enjoyable.
6-6.4 - Decent entertainment. I won't regret seeing it in theaters.
5-5.9 - Average; worth no more then a netflix rental.
4-4.9 - Somewhat weak, but some postive aspects.
3-3.9 - Poor
2-2.9 - One of the worst of the year.
0-1.9 - Dreadful
Under zero - I give some movies negative scores because I think the gap between them and other films could not otherwise be expressed. This ranks a film as one of the worst I've ever seen.

New Movies
I just watched Guess Who last night. I thought it was good but there were many areas where it just didn't get it right. One of the first things I noticed when it began was the score; I liked it. However, it was almost the same exact tone of score throughout the film making it seem like there really was no major building to climax. I think it was trying to be a comedy but had its roots in something more serious than that. Some, not all, of the dialogue was a bit unrealistic but I can't say I didn't enjoy it. B

A formulaic, predictable - albeit funny - typical rom-com. Will Smith brings enough charm to overcome the coldness (and, yes, hotness) of Eva Mendes.
