Easily. If MI2 made 57 back in 2000, Why the hell wouldn't MI3 make a good amount more than that?

I'm actually thinking around $70 million for the opening, assuming there will be a lot of hype and marketing, and a quick run with around $200 million total.

that sounds pretty damn good, considering Cruise is already doing interviews and plugging the film on TV.

It just seems to me like a sequel that nobody really wants. Plus, it's rather rocky production history doesn't exactly point to it being a film of high quality (though that certainly hasn't stopped the crowds before, but whatever). Just a feeling I guess, we'll have to wait and see. A film that I can point to for comparison is Terminator 3, which I have a feeling was much more anticipated than a third Mission Impossible movie will be. It only opened to $44 million, though that was a Wednesday opener, but still.

T3 was R though, thus hurting it a little. If it had been PG-13 it too would have opened with at least 50+ million. Mission: Impossible 3 will most assuredly be PG-13 like the previous two.

If T3 would've been PG-13, then you would've witnessed more fanboy bitching then you can shake a stick at.. As average as the movie was, thank God it wasn't PG-13..

I have to agree that I have more anticipation for many of the 2006 movies then I did for this summer's crop.

Pirates 2

I wonder how Cars will do. What I've seen so far, hasn't really appealed to me. However, this is Pixar, so I'm sure my interest will grow as it gets closer.

I'm worried about X3, what with all the negative scuttlebutt.

I have cautious hope that M. Night's mermaid flick will be up to the quality of his originals.

I could honestly care less about Sin City, or MI3. Or Superman. (I'm a Marvel Girl. )

I think that Eragon and Zoom will get lost in the shuffle. (I can see either of these, or both moving to the fall.)

Miami Vice has potential, because of the cast.

If Meg is done with a sense of humor, I'll be there.

Ghost Rider is not something I'd normally care that much about, despite being a Marvel Girl... except that they cast Nicholas Cage in the part. Nick Cage automatically increases my interest.

MEG, The Killer Shark movie?? Is that what your referring to?? The last thing this movie needs is humor and needs to be taken seriously and done properly without any rushing.. It's humorous enough to think this movie will treated as JAWS 5 with much laughter coming from that, but I don't see this being ready til 2007.. For this to be ready by 2006, there gonna have to get a move on and get a teaser trailer and a peak at what this thing looks like.. It'll have to lok infinitely beter than the one's released on DVD and I predict already that members of CHUD weill give this movie a pass on everything because one of their own is Producer of it, Nick Nunziata, and they wouldn't dare be honest and bash him or his movie..

I still think this should have happened. X3 would have made $90 million+ easily this weekend (possibly even $100 million) and MI3 would have had a good opening ($70 million+ three day) with Memorial Day. Oh well.
