One of my most anticipated shows of the fall (along with Rome).
AICN has a write up on Gervais' latest opus

It was amazing!
So funny. I'm glad that Yanks find Gervais funny too.

That remains to be seen. Extras may not find an audience stateside, though The Office was popular on BBC America (mostly with expats).

Ive read some reviews that say its a bit awful.
One commented on how its so blatantly trying to appeal to Americans too. And that Gervais basically plays David Brent once again.

It was alright. Nowt special.
I chuckled here and there, but otherwise it was a tiny bit dull. Hopefully the second episode's better.
Ben Stiller was certainly the best thing about the first episode.

Gervais has been mentioned saying this:
"I hope to get Clint Eastwood for the second series"
So hopefully its successful so we can get Clint on UK tv!!!! Somewhere else mentioned Sly's name with Clint, but i think thats a rumour.

Saw the first episode, it started out slow but it picked up and was pretty good. Stiller was great and I loved Gervais character in the show, even if he's a bit similar to the one in Office ( not THAT similar though )
How are episodes 2-4? Does the show pick up?

Episode 3 (with Kate Winslet) was the best episode yet, in my opinion.

The Ross Kemp/Vinnie Jones episode was brilliant.

Samuel L. Jackson episode made me laugh quite a bit. I really like this show now, after the iffy series premiere.

Can you make this the official thread, Libs? (single quotes and all, minus the apostrophe)
It premiered last night on HBO for us Americans. And it looks like they changed up the order for us. We got the Kate Winslet episode.
And let me tell you, it took me completely by surprise.
I haven't laughed as hard at something on TV in a long time. (Kate Winslet and the phone sex.)
Best premiere I've seen so far this year.

It was better than the Ben Stiller episode.
Like I said, I don't think the two episodes since the premiere have matched the Kate Winslet greatness of that episode, but it's still one of the funniest shows on TV. I'd say it's about even or just below The Office.

Yeah, I just watched the finale, which was awesome.
Great comedy, hope it gets some Emmy attention (if it's eligible or whatever).
