I dunno, it didn't bother me, that might be because I knew that they had kept the original ending, and as someone from another forum aptly pointed out, it wasn't like it was any more deux ex machina than the Jurassic Park ending.

I knocked WOTW down a full grade after a second viewing. It doesn't hold up that well. The fear I experienced during the first viewing was completely gone, and the total ineptitude involved in the staging of the ending (I still think the core idea is okay) really stuck out.
