I have a final prediction. I just don't think there is enough interest to open in the 60's. I guess it wouldn't surprise me if it did, but I still think it will open with about 45-50 mill. So I will say that it will open with:

50.75 mill
165

Friday: 15
Saturday: 20.25
Sunday: 15.5

I'd be shocked if it increased that much on Saturday. It'll most likely stay the same or drop.

Zingy got the boot from the club.

Sorry, Zingy, this club is for those who have the guts to say this will gross over 60, not for those who see the possibility.

No guts, no glory. [-X

Um, considering that I said that $60 million was a possibility before you even made this thread, and the fact my early prediction for the derby is $58 million, $2 million lower than this club, your "boot" is kind of...the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

And, considering that you don't even put your predicting skills on the line every week for the derby to PROVE you're a good predictor...

The club is for people saying 60 or over, not 60 is a possibility. Those are not the same things. You can't cover your ass and expect to celebrate no matter what the results are.

I've stated my opinion on the consensus tweaking derby and how I don't look at that as actual predicting.

Well Mav is the president of the club and hes got the right to do so. I may not agree with his prediction but I do agree with him trying hard to bring integrity to his club as opposed to just having people just join the club because they felt like it and then going off on one end and predicting something else. I can understand what hes getting at

I was actually looking for a good excuse to stick him in the ass, but I'll go with the integrity thing. Thanks, Roid.

Hey, it's still not too late to join up. \:D/

Well, then, you'll be booting a lot of people this weekend when the final predictions come in.

Because, you know, what I predict today won't be the same as what I predict on Thursday...

I'll keep an eye on the club members' predictions when they make their final ones. I may even convince you of over 60 before it's too late, so keep watching this thread.

Hmm I noticed that when I tried to overpredict Batman Begins, it worked the opposite way for me and had a dissapppointing opening. When I thought that Batman Begins was going to have a huge 50-55% drop the following week, it held up well. I also said Bewitched would in no way open under 25 million but it did. I think thinking about it the opposite way works for me so I may join up to jinx F4's prediction :-k . But then I saw BKB's name there and his tireless threads about F4 winning the summer so I dont need help in that department since hes already the main jinx in that club

He's very right.

I will most likely not predict $60+ million in the games I am in, even though I do think that it will make over $60 million. There's just a certain tactical reasoning behind that, something that only people understand who participate in the games, Mav ;)

That's all fine, and even understandable. I realize that's a game of tweaking, and not exactly listing what you really think. I only booted him because of his analysis on the front page, which has nothing to do with any games.

Well, he did put in a possibility...

Well I can see why Mav is right because it destroys a persons credibility when there are posters who pretty much say that Batman is a lock for $200 million but in their games particularly the BO Marathon games I see the same poster putting Batman Begins at 185 million-190 million on the same day meaning they werent even confident in their lock statement at all.Just using that as an example

Yes, exactly. I don't care if people want to puss out and play it safe with their derby average against the next guy's, but the club members have to believe in the criteria of the membership, in this case, it will do 60 or better, because when the celebration begins when those numbers roll in on next Saturday, it's really only fair that the members who were confident supporters of 60 million get the pats on the back. I'm hoping to pull Zingy in before it's too late so he can join us.

If I change my prediction to lower than $60m, I will shamefully drop my membership in this club. But for now still predicting $60m+, and will for all games.

I'm not in. The trailer is made in a way that it appeals almost exclusively to teenagers. I don't think many serious fans of the comic will be interested in what this CGI/crappy dialogue spectacle has to offer.

Basically, I think the audience for the film will be virtuallylimited to a pre-teen and teenager male audience; I don't think that'll carry it past $60M in one weekend, although it could come close (~$57M).

I also think that the superhero craze has vastly weakened since 2000 with X-Men.
