Damn i think theres loads of overpredictions.
I just fear people will keep branding this a dissapointment if it doesn't crack $60M. I think it's main goal is to crack $40M.

If the ending to War of the Worlds is really that bad to some people, and I hope not, because I'm really looking forward to Wednesday, then this is a lock for 60 million. I think it's a lock now, but I think the rest of you that are slacking to join up need a little encouragement.

You think it might top $70 million as well?

I would never say so unless I saw how Thursday's numbers are on the 7th. If WOTW is dropping hard, then it's a good possibility.

I'll tell ya right now: I would be so blown away, shocked to hell if WOTW drops hard because of the nitpicky ending that's being branded around here when in fact, it's exactly like the novel and not a big deal the way it's being made out to be.. No one had a problem with it back then and I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with it today other than being too overly cynical by today's standards.. Both movies will do very well...

Oh it could even do 100m for the weekend, I mean after 2 very good adult blockbusters, I think people are ready for a dumb cheesy one which from reviews so far is on par with movies such as Daredevil, Punisher, and Hulk.

Glad to know that you hang on the words of AICN reviews. Kill, if you want to build some credibility, you have to be able to predict a few movies right, and I don't see you ever doing that.

Well, Mav, I wouldn't go that far. Kill nailed a lot of predictions in the past. You probably didn't notice since you got into this whole "predicting movies thing" just recently. He's not bad.
He was more right on Bewitched than you, so...

The biggest f ups I made this year would probably have to be Robots, Ring Two ( though I was at the low end of what others were expecting ) and Begins
Sorry that im using AICN reviews, they're more legit then someone who hasnt seen the movie at all atleast, and the fact two of them compare it to other mediocre movies isnt just some coincidence, im not underpredicting the movie, 40m is nothing bad, it's just some people are thinking way too much of the movie over here.

Zingaling, just FYI, I was into the whole "predicting movies thing" long before you, xiayun, and others ever came around. I'm not new to it at all, and I have no idea why you think that I am.

Well, I'm not sure when you got involved, but as long as we've been on this site, you didn't really predict much at all in the beginning, but started predicting a lot around April.
But, I'm just saying, you should pay attention to others predictions before saying that they don't have credibility.

Just remember, life at the forums didn't begin the day you registered. I was VERY involved at the BO forum at BOM.
I just got very tired of the sports mentality and how people would get so fired up and personally offended all the time by something as trivial as money that was going into the pockets of rich people, so I stopped for a long time. I was also banished from the land of BOM, and that kinda affected my presence, because I wasn't going to create a new account.
I have paid attention to Kill's predictions, and honestly, I've seen nothing of note. No offense, Kill. Show me something, baby!

Well, depending on how BB and WOTW do, I think this could actually end up making more than either.
Coudl Fox pull of a Disney 2003 and claim the top 2 spots for the summer?
All this film needs to be is just "ok". To hell with serious drama, just something light-hearted and the occasional sexy shot of Jessica Alba

Interesting that you have to drag me into it, and I can only shake my head. By the same token, how do you know without even trying to verify to see if that's true? Your judgement seems to be based on when I started posting at BOM, even though I've been tracking numbers long before we entered the new millennium.

As fas as Hulk type numbers i'd say.

I don't think most people considered Hulk "ok", though. The majority hated the film.

No, no, what I mean by "Ok" is the audience walking out of the theatre saying "Hey, this was ok".
Something forgettable, but not bad.
Right now, though, I'd say:
WotW, then BB, then F4.

Then there was nothing wrong with my statement about being involved with BO predicting long before you ever came around? If you look closely, I never said "long before you ever started doing it". Heck, you don't even have to look closely to notice. I just dropped your name randomly, but you really seem to take offence when yours or someone else's box office prowess is brought up. Lighten up, huh?

WoTW - 230m
Begins - 190m-200m
FF4 - 120m-130m ( If it doesnt suck too hard )

It looks too cheap to open at 60. It might make 40-45 and should be content with that.
Cheap but fun though. I don't think it looks bad, just not a major movie.

The way this years going I think about $33 mil is all it will do. Not that thats bad just I don't feel the buzz or hype. But if its as much fun as X-Men it should have great legs and easily go past $125 mil
