Everyone here seems to be orgasming over the film. I'll probobly catch it during the summer....

The other Batman films werent mindblowing and i mean; i really dont have much of an interest in comic book characters.

It seems movie buffs [with no interest in comic books] have been bombarded with comic book fuelled fanboys and Hollywood wont stop putting fuel in that fire:P

BKB you liked the movie. There's no reason to bash the movie. It was better than the 89 version.

He liked it. That doesn't mean he has to gush all over it blindly and think it's better than any other movie when he thinks it isn't. Plus, there wasn't even any bashing in his post. He said Bale was on par with Keaton (which honestly, I never though he;'d ever have admitted judging by some of his pre-release posts), and he was defnding the 89 version. He never said Begins was any worse, he was merely stating Batman was better.

I thought it was very average at best.

The first 2 hours (or what felt like 2 hours) of setup was literally painful to watch... I felt like the move was retreading a lot of ground that was already covered (Wayne's parents being killed), or a lot of stuff I really didn't need to know (how Batman aquired everything from his costume to his underwear). It didn't even feel like a Batman movie until he got his suit (2 hours into the movie). I thought I was watching Star Wars for a while... "don't give into your rage/hate/fear..."

Katie Holmes was useless, and I didn't care for her. Christian Bale was decent, but I also wasn't crazy about him. I'd definitely put him below Keaton's Batman. And, overall the film was below the original and Batman Returns.

Once Batman got his suit and all his pieces put together, the movie was mildly entertaining to me. I just felt like they forgot to put the "fun" in this superhero movie until it was much too late.

Another thing that bugged me is it seems like every director is resorting to the "shaky camera" during action sequences. On the fight in the monorail it appeared that instead of choreographing a cool fight scene between Batman and Qui-Gon, they just shook the camera a lot to make you think there was action going on.

I give Batman Begins a 5 out of 10.

Before you charge, you need to do months and months of training, finding and cleaning a home base (cave), find a prototype car, a suit, weapons, and become an orphan. By then I'll be old and dead. Your charge will fail.

If you do a training montage (like in Team America), you can do it a little faster. And, was anybody else thinking of Team America when at the end, Bruce Wayne had essentially destroyed and blew up all of Gotham to kill Qui-Gon? That part made me laugh.

A 5/10 would be a C/C- for me. And, I'm being kind... in time I'll probably dislike the movie more as I can think of many more things that bugged me than I liked.

Damn that was fine.
It was as it always should have been. See Burton and Schumacher this was Batman not your clown circus.
](*,)
Bale was The Batman. So. .....
Gotham was cool. I wished some more of the slumlikeshots but that was ok. Some more Scarecrow would have been nice to.
But the rest was damn good. Nice Storztelling nice visuals and ...actually the whole thing was nice.

This gets an easy 10/10 from a Batfan. Im really looking forward to the next Batmovie when all will be about the Bat.
As far this was a reallt damn fine effort to bring a dead franchise back. Well done Nolan. [-o<

BTW. Seems that people that like Spiderman etc were a bit dissapointet. At least at my theater. Yes this was different and thats good so. I enyoed everz second of it.

What a fantastic comic book movie this was. It may even be better than my all time favorite Spider-Man 2. Great performances by Morgan Freeman, Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman, and Batman himself Christian Bale. I can't wait for the sequel with Joker returning as a villian. I hope Katie Holmes returns as Rachel Dawes and remains in these movies of this part of the franchise. She is like the Mary Jane Watson of Spider-Man. I would love to see Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman return also. Great movie. Right now it is probably the #1 of 2005 in my opinion. A+

His name is Ra's Al Ghul. And yes, I laughed about all the collateral damage.

He'll always be Qui-Gon and Oscar Schindler to me.

And, wasn't his name Duncard in Batman?

Glad to see you were actually paying attention to the movie and not brainstorming witty comebacks for future KJ use.

Either way, it just goes to show that Liam Neeson always trains somebody for the job that will destroy his organization... he did the same thing with that little brat in the Phantom Menace who took out all the Jedis as he did with Batman, who destroyed Duncard's organization. He's terrible at picking out trainees.

My one beef with this movie is:

The chase seen... the fricken MTV Movie Awards ruined it for me. When that seen came all I could think about was Jimmy Fallon and Andy Dick... I hate you MTV, I hate you so much

Same here. All I could see was Jimmy Fallon doing his Italian roof guy impression.
