Shows with endings you thought were a mistake?
This thread is for shows that ended in a way you just didn't like at all.
I would say Roseanne. Not only was the last season just dreadful, corny, unbelievable, lame, and downright terrible. When it switched back to the show as it was known, the ending was just horribly depressing to me. It was somewhat clever, but was just too downbeat for a sitcom. I know they were trying to go for real life, but eek.
They could have written off the last season as a delusion, but to write off the entire show as one after we saw these characters for near a decades time was kind of unfair.

I never saw the finale of Roseanne. So they said the show was just one big imaginatory thing?

The finale of Quantum Leap. He never returned home? But I thought he just learned that he could go anywhere he wanted, that HE can control where he leaps... So why can't he go back to his place and then enter the machine again?

The finale for Seinfeld, while being somewhat funny, was kind of a disappointment. The whole jail/trial scenario was just a mistake.

The finale of Home Improvement caused the show to go out with a rather major whimper.

Im curious to know how Rosanne ended...how did it end?
Friends was a somewhat mistake of a finale. It was funny, and everything worked out. But it was too predictable. I mean, couldnt they have done some.....something?!?!? It was way too predictable.
I felt the finale of Fresh Prince of Bel Air was perfect for a sitcom. Stayed light and funny, didn't venture away from the WHOLE series, and it's end was sorta tear jerking.

Speaking of big imaginary things, I maybe in the minority, but I hated that St. Elsewhere ending.
Also, the X-Files. What a big mindfuck.

Dan's dead. Roseanne went into a huge depression and took up writing (if you remember they made her that writing room in Season 2).
Darlene really was with Mark the whole time. Becky was really with David the whole time. Jackie was really gay the entire time. Her always having bad relationships with men was all in Roseannes head. Nancy was in a terribly abusive relationship with Arnie. She ended up seeking spirituality.
There were a couple other things I can't recall. Basically, the entire series was based on how Roseanne wanted things to be. It was all her book. Basically, the show was her happy version of life even with all the problems they had on the show. The way things really happened in their lives was worse.
It was pretty downbeat for an ending.
All in the Family took a similar approach when it became Archie Bunker's Place. It turned from Sitcom to Drama in several ways. Ediths horrible death. The episodes where Archie goes into terrible fits of crying. Gloria returning as a divorced single mother who has put on a couple pounds. Mike who became religious and ran off to join a convent with another woman. Archies niece coming to live with him. The episodes about drug use. bla, bla, bla.

Yeah. I didn't even know the show was ending until a week before it aired. Not that I watch the show, LOL. What was the ending?

What a depressing ending for Roseanne! I stopped watching it after the lottery thing, but overall, is still one my fave shows of all time.

The end of Home Improvement had Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson (I can't remember how many kids they still had on the show at the time, I know Jonathan Taylor Thomas left) packing and moving somewhere else after Tim got another job, I think.
What I found so stupid about it was that they actually moved their entire house.
