Yeah, we all think that now, but Hollywood is not kind to child actors. The work is cut out for her to sustain a career right into being an adult. Then again, it's probably just as likely that she'll want to focus on school, and end up not even doing movies for a few years.

I really hope Dakota takes a break and doesn't turn into a has-been. She is oozing potential out of her pores.

I just can't picture her as an adult. She's so small and petite and I can't imagine her as a grown women. I could with Drew, but not with Dakota.

Great summer. We can see 3 100m+ openings. I also think we have 6 films that have to be favorites for 200m+ (The Da Vinci Code, Over the Hedge, X3, Cars, Superman Returns, Pirates 2).

She does have potential. I just hope it isn't lost when she gets older.

Given what I've seen of her, I highly doubt it. I just watched MOF with the commentary a few days ago, she is amazingly mature for her age.

Sin City 2 could be the first movie to open over $40 million and not make $100 million (I think it's the first...).

Baring anything from the remainder of this year, yes it will be the first.

Doom might have a shot at that, but I think it's more likely to perform like AVP. High 30's opening and end somewhere in the 80's.

Doom would have accomplished it if it had opened in August.

I'm still not sure it is going to open any higher then other video-game-to-film adaptions. Maybe Resident Evil type numbers, with around $25-$28 million opening and not much more then $50 million overall, if that.

Well, now it'll open to about that much. But, if it were released in August (like originally planned)...$40+ million opening.

Nah. I seeing it opening with about $35-38m. Then ending with $80-85m.

It would most-likely get an August release date. June/July/May have too much already. If it were released in those months it wouldn't be able to open real high. BTW, The Fast and The Furious 3 opens June 16, 2006.

Similar release date to the other two franchised films, correct?
I still don't know how this is going to do without either of the two original stars. Of course being the summer it should still open decently.

2 Fast 2 Furious opened June 6, 2003. I can't remember the first ones release date. I think they should open The Fast and the Furious 3 on June 2, 2006 which is movie free as of right now. It is currently up against Eragon.

I really hope they take their time with "MEG" and make a damn good movie, but somehow, I feel like this movie is gonna be rushed just to make it to summer 2006.. Maybe they should push it back to summer of 2007??? I'm also wondering if there gonna use practical FX or all CGI or a combination of both??

Emmm....i can actually see DAKOTA FANNING winning an oscar at some point, when she's older obviously.
Imagine she won best actress right now, at 8 or whatever she is.
She's actually kind of a draw aswell....she helped with UPTOWN GIRLS and HIDE AND SEEK, and both were hits.
Her names always included on the marketing.
I think she rocks.

Have you read any of the books?
It will be a combination of both but the days of an animatronic Bruce are over.

Wasn't there also plans for a sequel to Spaceballs? If Brooks is indeed making one, I wouldn't be surprised if he gave it a May 19th release date, further crowding the summer.
