Look great for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Don't see why it can't do what I, Robot and The Bourne Supremacy did last year.

Lloyd 18 openers:
The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D 2 screens (ten shows)
High Tension 1 screen (five shows)
The Honeymooners 1 screen (five shows)
Mr. and Mrs. Smith 3 screens (only twelve shows :???:, weird for a three screener)

As for the holdovers:
*Madagascar goes from four screens to two
*The Longest Yard goes from three screens to two, though it no longer has the giant screen
*Star Wars goes from three screens to two, but also from 13 shows to 8
*Lords of Dogtown goes from two to one during the day, two at night
*Cinderella Man keeps it's two showtimes and actually gains another showing from them opening up later shows for the summer
*Monster-in-Law and Crash go from one screen each to splitting one together;
*They lose The Interpreter, Unleashed, and Kingdom of Heaven.
*Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants keep one screen each

Yeah, it is looking good, but I'm wondering if it's not from a lack of much else holding up in screens to some extent. I'm really not feeling the level of hype I felt for those, but then again, this did have the trailer attached to Star Wars. So I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic, I still have that gut feeling of 35 million but at this point I'm leaning closer towards 45-50 million.

Right now I see a $15-18M Friday (can't see it getting lower than 13M), on par with what other action movies got last summer. The weekend multiplier will be weaker, so I'm predicting 40-45M with upward movement potential.

It is official.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - 4 screens
Shark Boy - 2 screens
Honeymooners - 2 screens
High Tension - 1 screen.

Holdovers.
Cinderella Man remains on 3 screens.
Lords of Dogtown drops to 2 screens.
Sisterhood remains on 2 screens (though one of the screens will only be in the day)
Longest Yard, Madagascar and Star Wars will each drop to 3 screens.
And the rest, are well, not worth mentioning.

Mr & Mrs Smith
Genina Mall Cinema, 400 seats ( 40% full )
7.10 Pm Showing

Trailers:
War Of The Worlds: good reaction

Movie:

Very Very disappointed. I've been really looking forward to this movie and maybe this is why i'm not happy. The movie doesn't have any kind of plot. I know it was supposed to be the 'fun movie' of the summer, but some logic could help. For anyone who saw Ocean's Twelve, if you thought the 'twist' was ridiculous, wait until you see the final revelation of Mr & Mrs Smith, you'll find a whole new definition for the word ridiculous.

It's not also as funny as the trailers would suggest, and Vince Vaughn is hugely underused. He was on screen fot about 10 minutes or something.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are fine, especially Brad Pitt, he's probably at his funniest. The action and music were good, that's why i'm not giving the movie a D.

C

This movie will have ocean's twelve opening at best, with worse legs.

With worse WOM, far bigger competition ( Batman Begins, WOTW, Bewitched ), i'd say yes.

Ocean's twelve had only Meet The Fockers to deal with, and look how much it hurt it

The two big drops were mostly the result of the natural frontloading IMO as it was a hyped sequel. I think MTF was some competition, but that it did not have a huge effect. It still would not have dropped less then 48% that week IMO.

For WOM, I respect your opinion, but I'm not convinced at this point that it will be poor. I'd guess that it will be decent as of now.

I think WOM will be good. The reviews, as of now, are generally positive and the movie looks like a crowd pleaser.

Well if today is any indication, it will have mediocre WOM. I was with 5 friends, and none of us liked it. Maybe our expectations were very high, so they were not met. But you're right, i think we should wait until the weekend to know the actual WOM.

But i really do think this movie has a lot of competition. 5 days after it opens, Batman Begins will take a huge portion of the teens. 2 days later, The Perfect Man ( a movie which i think has some potential ) will take some of the girls & the adult women. 1 week later, Bewitched & Herbie will take another portion of the girls and the adult women. By the time WOTW opens, i think Mr & Mrs Smith will be pretty much done.

I'm going to see HIGH TENSION on Friday night at 6:50. It's on the screen CRASH was playing on, so it's in a pretty big theater.

It would be nice but THE HONEYMOONERS would need to make less than $5 million this weekend and I don't see that happening.

Yeah, I've read about about it. All the american movies will be banned from the 1st of July to the 1st of september ( with the exception of War Of The Worlds ), to give more room to the egyptian movies. But here are the good news, from now on, the american movies will be able to have 8 theatres, and not only 5 like now.

BTW, I Hate the people at teenstuff, they still didn't give me a permission. So my acount is not activated yet
