Great for Sisterhood (it benefitted from the family tuesday) and Cinderella Man. Laughable for Dogtown and kinda strange for Ep III...

I don't know what Attack of the Clones did, but it doesn't change the fact that Revenge of the Sith was one of only two movies to drop on Tuesday. In comparison to everything else, it's not good.
The Longest Yard passes $100m. It's like a mini-Bruce Almighty.

The same day last year, most films increased as well, and the couple that dropped turned out to be quite frontloaded.
CM's increase wasn't actually as good as I thought it would be.

Yep, Dogtown looks headed for an inevitable 60%+ plunge this weekend.
Also, I wonder if strong summer dailies will be enough to inch Monster-in-Law past $90M. It will probably stop just short.

What's the budget on Lords of Dogtown? It probably isn't a true flop, but nothing at this point will mend the film from its poor numbers.

I would assume under $30M, so Sony won't be hurting on this one all that much.

It's pretty cheap.
There is nothing to stop it from dropping 65% now, IMO.

Wow at Episode III. Look, I know it's run so far has been superb, and it's going to end up with a great total gross, but that tuesday drop is a huge shocker to me. It's not even a minimal drop, it's 3.2%, and both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones increased on this tuesday. Perhaps it's wednesday drop won't be so big now, and that will make up for this anyways. I just wasn't expecting that.
Oh, and Lords of Dogtown is dying a quick death.
PEACE, Mike

Not that I'm one to support Ep III, but Attack of the Clones had one of the smallest increases (everything else increased over 10%) on a similar Tuesday in 2002.

The Sith number is a bit surprising, the pattern had been solid up till now.
IMDB has Lord of Dogtown as a 25M est (mojo seems down at the moment).

It's got a good chance at passing $90m.
It should be at $81m after this weekend and the following weekend. With 30%-ish drops, it'll easily pass $85m. From that point, it depends on the second-run theatres or a Sony push. Keep in mind that Maid in Manhattan made $17.6m after its fourth weekend, even with January weekdays (the winter boost was over...).
Even if it doesn't, $85m - $88m is a fantastic gross.

Yeah. It would probably drop over 55% even without a lackluster opening weekend. Considering that there's no room for the movie with four new releases and four movies theatres will want to keep ( Revenge of the Sith, Madagascar, The Longest Yard, and Cinderella Man), it'll likely be pushed to the smallest screens and the worst times.

Monster-In-Law is definitely going for a sub 35% drop this weekend.

I think Monster-In-Law is a lock for 85m, but it will probably stop short of 90m by a couple million.

Doesn't matter how good the legs of Star Wars are on Tuesday - it made a hell of money and as long as its dropping 'just' 50% every weekend it will beat Jurassic Park easily (dunno about RotK, because Batman could hurt it)...

Terrible for Dogtown. Sisterhood looks like it will have some good legs. Good increase for Madagascar. It's sad to think that Jurassic Park will soon be bumped from the top ten list where it's been for more than 10 years now.

And Lions Gate has spent less then $20 million promoting it, so with a decent international run it will pull in a hefty profit for the studio.
I've still not had a chance to see it, but I'm hoping to sometime next week perhaps.
