I still think HIGH TENSION will surprise the HELL out of a lot of you.

Even if it somehow achieves a $6,000 PTA, that's still only $7.8 million. With the lack of a good marketing campaign, horror overload, a confusing trailer, and the fact that half the people who wanted to see it have already seen it will hurt it.

Agreed, and this is coming from someone who has seen and loves the film. It's going to tank - HARD. I'd be surprised if it cleared $3 million this weekend, honestly. I went with $5 million on my prediction, just to be safe, but i'm not expecting it.

Christ Dude.. Your overhyping the hell out of this HIGH TENSION more than I did for Amityville Horror.. I can't imagine this movie is THAT good the way some of you hardcore horror buffs are going on and on about it?? Ease up.. Too much overhype will have a tendency to backfire you know..

2. Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D 25 million - I've seen numerous TV spots and if reviews are half decent I'm sure it'll draw in tons of families. Something eye catching like 3-D ALWAYS helps.

I just don't get why they felt the need to make "The Honeymooners" into a movie with an Urban Cast like this?? Again, I'm not Racist before we start jumping the gun on that, but it would be like Hollywood making the TV Show "The Jeffersons"(Which was Excellent for it's time) with a White Cast.. At any rate, I smell a BOMB for The Honeymooners.. :budo:

Am I the only one who dares to predict 'Howl's Moving Castle'. Okay, I know it's only opening on 35 screens, but I think it will do extemely well. At least $ 1,0 million dollars opening weekend.

Am I missing something? Why do people think The Honeymooners will do $15 million?

I'm thinking it might make under $5 million. It's commercials are just.. stupid. The only funny part is the blind dog, but even that is stretched.

A good comparison is Man of the House. It had a funny premise and Tommy Lee Jones looked funny. Cedric himself was in that and added a layer of funniness to the commercials. That movie only opened to $9 million.

There's no real premise to this movie except that Cedric and his friend want to make money. Not that different from King's Ransom, and we all know how that turned out.

Well, it is a so-called 'urban' film, and those always do better than expected... inexplicably.
That being said, I think it'll do $9-13 million.

Right and out on DVD next week.. This movie should've never been conceived and is a throwaway.. How about we make "The Jeffersons" into a movie using a white cast??

I still don't understand why the casting of this movie is such a big deal. It's not like The Honeymooners is race-specific or something. It could just as easily be African-Americans in the same sitcom-ish situations.
