Obviously, this does not include those amazing averages from limited releases.


Anyways, this, in my opinion, is themost astonishing statistic. The fact that the film drew in more than 2,000 people on average at 3,661 locations across the country in 1 day is jaw-dropping! That is more people than will go to church in the EU this weekend...

Also, mark Spider-Man 1's astonishing average as well. Just beautiful.

Also note that Sith got more people in on average than TPM did, although they're pretty close.

Another record for Episode 3.

The $13,661 average is simply amazing. What it indicates is that theatrs were packed everywhere, and not just in some select areas.

This film is playing to huge crowds in all markets in North America, and more importantly for its long-term prospect, seems to have connected with both the young generation and the old one. I can't explain such a big average in any other way. Most films would be happy with an average such as this for the entire weekend.

Star Wars only dropped about 18% at my theater from Thursday (counting midnight shows as well). So could we be seeing around a 20% drop?? I was the one earlier saying it wouldn't drop that soft, but business was booming tonight. Picked up so much over last night. But I'm thinking the weather might've played into that, cold and damp. But still. We did $12,000 yesterday counting midnight shows and only dropped to $10,000 today.
