Post Screen Counts and Crowd Reports for Star Wars Weekend.
Well, here it is, the big event weekend of the summer.

Let's go over the rules, in this rules, you should only post.

1. How many screens you theater gets on Thursday (Midnights don't count).
2. Theater reports if you actually went to see it (like crowd reaction, your grade, etc.)
3. Any other movie you saw and reactions.

Here is what I don't want.

1. Advanced sold out show from movietickets.com or Fandango, or anything related to advance ticket selling (use the other thread for that). This is only for real crowd reactions and people who went to see it.
2. Long Conversations, it is annoying.

Thank you.

Getting it on 5 screens....

however 2 of those screens are totally sold out Thurs and Fri and Sat...

oops I wasnt suppose to put that in this thread....

Then again I better quit typing before I type to much since long threads are so annoying...

I would put why only 2 of our screens are sold out but I dont wanna take up to much space....

And I honestly think midnights should count cinsidering midnights all count towards Thurs grosses...

On that note we have 5 midnight shows all sold out...but then again that shouldnt be in here either....

Not exactly sure what you're looking for, but AMC Independence Commons 20 has 36 showings set for the day of Thursday (not including midnight before). 4 10am showings, 2 10:30am showings, 2 11:15am, 2 noon, 3 10:20pm, and more. Looks like most times have at least two screens.

Would this be the thread where we report how many Wookies,Storm Troopers and gumby sized Darth Vader people get tossed out of the midnight showings?

Hehehe. I could definitely tell a few stories about my experiences being first in line for the first two prequel midnight showings... I never knew how crazy this stuff could get.

Can't wait for Wednesday. I hope I can get my final done as fast as possible so I can get to the theater early. I shall bring back a full line & audience report.

And maybe Crash and/or Mindhunters. Depends on the time.

7 screens at Mercado 20. Most shows on Thursday have been sold out. Very few for the weekend yet.

One of the bigger theaters near me (a 12-screen theater) is using 5 screens for Episode III on Thursday. 22 showtimes.

They've never done this before, so, you know, it's amazing.

Okay.

Scott, I'm not going to tolerate that rule. It's not your right to define what we can talk about. This, after all, is a forum. We're here to converse. If people want to discuss movies in this thread, why not let them? Sure, I can advise them to post it where they belong, but I'm certaintly not going to censor someone just so we have a "Stepford" thread that's easy to browse...

Torrino. I only said no long conversation (meaning please keep it minimal). If you want long conversations, please go the Ye Olde Pube thread.

Anyway, my theater has 25 showtimes for Thursday (which tranlates to 7 prints).

usually, I look at the running time. Add 15 minutes of previews, and 30-45 minutes for turn-around times (meaning the time between the end to the beginning of the next one).

Anyway it is final.

5 prints plus 2 interlocks, making it 7 screens (only 25 showtimes). This I think is too low for my theater, hope they add more. Then again, those midnights could limit our Thursday audience.

Well Portland has sure caught Star Wars fever. At the Tigard 11, Star Wars will be on three screens, with fourteen shows (it's got two of those weird 9:00 AM shows). At the Lloyd Center 18, Star Wars is getting 22 shows:
9:00am I 9:30am I 10:00am I 11:30am I 12:00 I 12:30 1:00 I 1:30 I 3:00 I 3:30 I 4:00 I 4:30 I 5:00 I 6:30 I 7:00 7:30 I 8:00 I 8:30 I 9:55 I 10:25 I 10:55 I 11:25.
Looks like about four screens, maybe five. Of the theaters that list other movies, all the multiple screens Kicking and Screaming/Monster-in-Law/Kingdom of Heaven would have had are gone, and it looks like all the spring movies are getting cleaned out of theaters, with barely anything left with any breathing room.
