Wow. That was unexpected.

So it's Tom and Katie...

I think we know who's going to win.

Well at least Colby's off the hook for dumbest Survivor move ever, he should send a card to Ian or something.

I know.

Tom would've sooo taken Ian anyway if he had just stepped off and not said anything.

Let's see...how could the votes go.

Katie: Ian, Janu, Coby (?)
Tom: Caryn, Steph, Gregg, Jenn

I'm not exactly sure, I'm pretty sure Tom will win but Katie will probably get at least 2 votes.

Congrats, Tom!

Extremely well-deserved.

I wonder if Coby was the only one who voted for Katie.

I think almost everyone agrees that Tom was the most deserving person out of the 20 to win (I say almost because some people probably think Stephenie should've won). I don't know why, but it seems that all the men who win on Survivor deserve it, which could not be said about all of the women (Amber). Maybe I'm just biased.

The right person won this year! That's a weird twist. We haven't seen that happen since Hatch won season 1.

Ian is an idiot... I hope he at least got laid (and that it was really really good) for giving Katie $100,000.

In retrospect, this wasn't the worst season, but far from the best. There were definitely some VERY boring shows in the middle, but it picked up once Stephanie merged and the drama kicked up a notch. But, there was only 2 or 3 people that I genuinely liked in the whole cast.

Congrats Tom!

So... Jeff from Ulong is a soap actor now? *shudders*

I think this season is the best in terms of the uniqueness and difficulty of challenges. However, with the predictable decimation of Ulong and crocodile-tearin' Katie I rank this season somewhere in the middle.

It's about goddamn time that someone deserving won Survivor. And not only that, he was who I wanted to win since the first episode! Tom is without a doubt the best winner since Hatch from Season 1. The entire episode was full of shocks and surprises. I was on the edge of my seat on the first (aka second to last) immunity challenge of the episode. Thank God Tom won, since he didn't even feel like he needed to win it.

Ian is also possibly the dumbest player of the game. And we saw two people, one meathead and one loon, get eliminated just because they weren't picked by anyone in the first episode of Palau! He dug himself enough of a hole to find himself in China, and then he goes and lets it slip that the decision would have been hard, between Tom and Jenn. And THEN, he hands Katie the final two spot next to Tom, simply because he wants to win back his dignity and integrity, and win back the respect of two people that he probably didn't need to suck up to after the game was over? It just seemed so... last ditch effort-y. He knew he wasn't going to win, so he decided to make it sound like his decision that he gave Katie and Tom the final two. Don't forget this is the same guy who has been in that giant hole for the past few weeks. Don't forget this is the same guy who was winning quite a few challenges, whenever Tom just missed winning them. Don't forget this guy probably could have stood a decent shot at winning, if he played his cards right to the bitter jury (I'll get to those sour-pusses in a minute). And please don't forget this is the same guy who stood out on a fucking pole for almost half a day, trying to secure himself a guaranteed $100,000 and a possible $1,000,000. Factor that all in, and Ian has his small portion of dignity in tact, weighed next to everything else I just listed. What a dumb move, just to try and look honorable, when he didn't even pull that off.

And the jury! My GOD! When it gets emotional, and they get teary-eyed, I let it pass. It's "just a game", but just imagine everything you go through. But that jury was mean, bitter, angry, and downright moronic. I didn't think it was that possible to take all of the bitterness of Sue Hawke from her infamously bitter speech, and spread it around 7 people on a jury. There were some sore losers who actually tried making Tom sound like a bad guy, who didn't deserve to be there! They didn't do it, and it was barely noticable because the idea of Tom being undeserving is bullshit. There's usually one or two people who are just happy for the final two, but there was no one! They all seemed fairly upset with someone or something. I felt horrible for Katie. She took a serious bashing at the final tribal council, and I felt bad. She didn't deserve to win, but she didn't deserve The Bitter Bearded One known as Gregg calling her pathetic, and calling her time in the challenges embarassing.

All in all, it's been a good year overall, with the best winner you can have. I can't say it's the best year, just because it had the best winner, not to mention a slew of records that were broken over the course of its run, but it certainly redeemed itself as a season, after the domination that Koror deserved (it was more like watching pathetic Ulong was what took the season down). Even Stephenie! I'm not sure why I liked her, or why she's the most popular Survivor. I did not like her at first, and only liked it when everyone else was liking her. But, in retrospect, she was in the right place at the right time. Someone had to be the last Ulong member, and it just happened to be her! Nothing more, nothing less. Steph is far from my favorite Survivor, and far from my favorite female Survivor.

In a nutshell: Congratulations, Tom. Well deserved.

Well, at least Katie or Ian didn't win it. Tom was still really boring, though. I want stand-out people like there were on Borneo, Australia and Marquesis. I want actual friendships get developed (Roger/Elizabeth, Neleh/Pascal, Colby/Tina), not this overly dramatic Ian and Katie crap. I hope next season brings more interesting people, a more interesting season, and just a better mood.

I'm looking forward to the Guatemala one also. Here's hoping one of the challenges involves human sacrifices and eating their brains.

The Mayan theme should be fun, I was getting pretty bored of the beach. I've lost count how many seasons in a row were Blue Lagoon ripoffs.
