I don't think Scott would have been right for it at all. Sure he wouldn't be as obnoxious as John and obviously I'd rather have him than this moron but I don't think he'd be able to do a horror film well. He's more of a comedy guy and hasn't had experience with horror themed stuff at all. I didn't like his score card idea because this isn't a comedy. Dimension wants to go a more serious route and his score card idea sounded like something that could be in a parody or a Uwe Boll movie (HOUSE OF THE DEAD anyone?). Speaking of a Uwe Boll movie, I can imagine FEAST being another HOUSE OF THE DEAD.

As for the Project Greenlight movies, I dug THE BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS (7/10 or B-) and STOLEN SUMMER (7/10 or B), which I saw recently, was surprisingly solid. I only saw the latter for the very talented Ryan Kelley (MEAN CREEK) and even though I'm not religious in the least I'm glad I saw it. It was really interesting.

As much as I love horror I am certain FEAST will be a stinker. The much despised CURSED will easily have been better than how this will turn out. And I actually thought CURSED was a lot of fun. Not a great film, but it couldn't have been more entertaining.

Also, I really like Ben Affleck. He gets so much shit all of the time and I think it's bogus. He seems like a very cool, down-to-earth guy and he also seems pretty damn smart. And he CAN act. If you want to see an example of people not being able to act then see Leigh Whannell and Cary Elwes in SAW. Then tell me Ben Affleck is a terrible actor. He only gets such flack because he's Ben Affleck, just like Jennifer Lopez gets so much and is a called a terrible actress because she's J Lo. Well, I don't think she's bad at all either. In fact, I think she's a very solid actress and has given some very good performances. She's nowhere near as bad as people make her out to be. I don't really like her as a person and I don't buy her CD's, but I will say that she is capable of acting.

And I agree with Matt Damon. As much as I love horror movies it shouldn't just be about how much money the movie will make, it should be about making a quality movie, not just going with the most marketable idea. The horror genre can churn out some great, creative films though (MAY, FRAILTY, GINGER SNAPS, etc...), so I hope Matt Damon isn't against the genre altogether, but he does seem to be right about FEAST not being a very good choice.

I think the casting director should have been fired since she clearly didnt have the best interest of the producers and director in mind. What a bitch.

I agree about the casting director. Should have been fired on the spot. I felt bad for her during the first couple of episodes, but she is insanely manipulative, and obviously doesn't give two shits about the actual project and only getting her friends cast.

The monster does look great, too, at least from the brief glimpses they gave us.

I was impressed by the cast they ended up assembling. It's quite good.

I'm not sure why everyone is so surprised that John can't make days. I'm getting the feeling that there's a lot more "tv" in this documentary than I previously thought.

I don't buy that they would even give the cast 430 call times if they're needed for atmosphere shots that aren't even being filmed. And I got the impression that they orchestrated the Jason Mewes fuck up. Why isn't the AD getting the actors into place and making sure they hit their marks? In reality, all those duties don't really fall to John. The DP needs to realize that by fighting John, he's only making his own job more difficult. Cut the guy some slack, it's a first feature.

I don't agree with John's dad blowing up next week. That only proves the execs right in their hesitation to allow John to hire family. Keep out of it pops.

I don't understand why everyone fights John on every creative decision he makes. It's ridiculous. He's clearly just the contest winner in most people's eyes, and that's really unfortunate.

They are definitely treating John differently than pass winners Pete Jones and Kyle and Efram. Maybe it's because of his age and quiet demeanor.

He needs to flip out one day and fire someone to get respect.

Well, the season finale and probable series finale aired and the results were mixed. John got more money to overhaul the film but it seems because of the Disney/Miramax split, Feast may not see the light of day for some time.

Funny that the best season was also the last.
