How many times did Rob and Amber have somebody help them through a whole leg of a race? Plenty of times, thats freakin lame.

Just a littletoo fishy for me.
I can sort of see your point, but you just can't use that to argue for Rob and Amber. Those two had at least four or five moments when they were suddenly let onto a flight or some similiar situation (remember the flight they got on and Lynn and Alex were being all smug "Rob and Amber didn't get on!" and then they did...).
You know...?

Rob and Amber weren't the first team to use locals during legs. They were the first "famous" team though. Lots of teams in earlier seasons, some fluent in other languages were able to find locals willing to help.

I refuse to backpeddle, and say "Well, I'm happy for Uchenna and Joyce. 2nd isn't so bad for Rob and Amber!". Screw Uchenna and Joyce! Rob and Amber deserved it, damn it. I knew when Uchenna and Joyce were miles behind the other two teams that they were going to win. Same thing with Zach and Flo. Remember when they almost quit the whole game? Then some stroke of luck comes and they won. Damn it all!
... okay fine. Congrats Uchenna and Joyce.

Killuminati510 wrote: Why the hell would anyone want Rob & Amber to win, instead of sticking with their 15min of fame, they went and got themselves on Amazing Race, now they're getting another freakin 15min with that stupid wedding special, who the hell is gonna watch that crap? They're tv whores grasping for as much fame as they can before it's all over. Glad Uchenna & Joyce win, now I only have two shows I watch regullary, Family Guy & Contender, and Contender will end soon
Why would I want them to win? Because I don't roll over when someone tells me to, and automatically hate a team because they were on another show. They tried their darndest to make Rob and Amber the villains of the show, but I don't eat up whatever I'm fed without making my own choices about it. Rob and Amber deserved a shot on the show just like anyone else. Actors can become singers. Singers can become actors. A baseball player can try to be a football player. If you can have the best of both worlds, go for it. What's the difference?
As for the wedding, what's the problem here now?! Are we all being forced to watch it? No, of course not. If that's the case, it's not directly affecting you, so why should it matter at all? It doesn't. Case closed. I truly hope Rupert is on The Amazing Race 8, so all the people who ran out in droves to bash Rob and Amber because they were on Survivor will all prove me wrong, and bash ol' Rupert for being on Survivor, as well.
And, while I'm on The Amazing Race 8, I think a family edition is going to be one big mistake. Come on... every (and I mean EVERY) single leg will end with "Well guys... we did our best. We have each other as a family, and... in the end, that's all you can ask for. We're winners in all our minds, and we really did our best. No regrets at all." Not to mention kids. KIDS! Kids. Kids on a race around the world with their families? The only way I will enjoy a family edition, is if a dysfunctional family is on there. A REAL dysfunctional family. Osbournes dysfunctional. But I doubt it. It's reality TV, wouldn't want to see any reality in it.
Yes, I am in a horrible mood, and surprisingly, none of it has to do with Rob and Amber coming in second place. Sure, it's a piss-off, but oh well. Sorry if I sound really mean or anything.

It would be nice to see families fall apart during the show.
TAR 8 isn't going to be only parents and offspring. All sorts of wacky family units will be featured.

So, I watched my tape of The Early Show this morning.
Joyce looks *beautiful* right now, she has a great short haircut that just works really well on her.
Oh, shock of all shocks, Kelly and Ron mentioned that they're no longer together but are "good friends." I mean, they had such a stable relationship, what happened? Oh yeah, they acted like they met 5 minutes before the race started.

Well, if there's good, interesting families on there, I'm all for it. But, what are the rules? Are there going to be two adults and two children? Do children HAVE to be on a team? I really don't know anything about it, besides "Family Edition", so I am jumping to conclusions here.

Did Ron say something like "Yeah, we're good friends now. Like how I was good friends with a few guys in the army."

from realitytvworld
The Amazing Race 8 will be an "all family" edition featuring four-person teams comprised exclusively of family members 12 years of age or older.
According to CBS, examples of eligible "family edition" teams include traditional families (mom, dad and two kids), blended families (newly married with step siblings), four sisters, four brothers, multi-generational (grandparents and grandchildren) and engaged couples with in-laws-to-be.
"Everyone can relate to family travel... the camaraderie, the emotion and even the conflict," said The Amazing Race executive producer Bertram van Munster. "We’re looking for families who want to turn this familiar concept into an adventure that will take them to some amazing places while discovering a lot about their family dynamic and human spirit."
Each team must feature at least one team member who is at least 21 years old. Any teams containing minors must also feature at least one of the minor's parents or legal guardians. All members of each team must be American citizens, reside within the United States, and be in good physical and mental health.

So, some teams won't feature kids? Is that fair for teams with kids? I have too many questions, I know. I'll probably have to wait to see it.

Unless I had superstrong kids, I wouldn't bother.
4 brothers who are athletes or former military facing off against lesbian grandparents and their teenage grandkids.
That sounds great.

Actually, that doesn't sound that bad. I'm mostly just glad there won't be any 7-year old brats running around doing challenges.

That's what I was afraid of, as well.

Here's an awesome link over at Television Without Pity detailing events and happenings at last night's "TARcon", a finale after-party usually organized by members of TWoP. Every single racer (and Phil!) showed up for the party last night, and there are some cool pictures and stories from it that you can read here.

Just because you need fertility treatment or that you worked for Worldcom doesn't mean you're automatically more deserving.
They finished 1st.

I already knew Uchenna & Joyce won on Tuesday night (I heard it from the other room), but I finally watched the finale last night. Couldn't have asked for a better conclusion. And even when you know who the winner is, the show is still pretty intense.
It just goes to show how much more fun the show is to watch when the winners are actually deserving. The producers of last season's show could have at least toyed with the editing a bit to make Freddy and Kendra a little more likeable.
Overall, I'd say this season was better than last but not quite as good as the one before that.
Bring on the family edition, I say.
Now, I'm off to go look at those TARcon pics.

It still annoys me that the plane stayed just for Uchenna and Joyce. It's different if it was the last minute, like that time with Rob and Amber, but the doors were closed, the fate was sealed. If it was not for that, Rob and Amber would have won.
Yes, I am bitter. So sue me!

I'm just happy Ron and Kelly didn't win. Yeah, I'm upset Rob and Amber didn't win, but at least it was Uchenna and Joyce that took that place of winning. I don't know how I would get over it if Ron and Kelly had won. *shudder*
PEACE, Mike
