 Evita

I actually learned quite a bit about Argentina and Evita Peron through the movie. It led me to read a biography on Evita after I saw the movie. Any movie that can get me to read a book is no small feat! But, I know you aren't big on learning, unless I'm schooling you in Halo 2 so I wouldn't expect you to like it!

On another note, has nobody seen American Movie? Or do people just not like that one? That was a funny movie.

You have a really imaginary mind their Tony. Anyways so after your weekly American Idol fix, do you just pop in Evita and cry a little?

No love for Requiem For A Dream, Team America, Patton, Cool Hand Luke, or the cinematic masterpiece, Cabin Boy?!?!?

Oh well... I'm saving the really good stuff for the top of the list... Ballistics: Ecks vs Sever, From Justin to Kelly, Battlefield Earth, etc...

Actually I top AI off with either Funny Girl, the Way We Were, Love Story, Sophie's Choice, or Beaches.

Have I mentioned I love Madonna? I paid $1,400 for two 4th row center stage tickets to her Drowned World concert plus $600 for 20th row tickets the next day. That may help you understand my love for Evita a little more. But, unfortunately, nothing explains Cabin Boy...

I think Requiem is fantastic, but I don't know if I would consider it one of my 'favorites.' Maybe I would. I don't know.

I liked Patton, but I didn't love it. George C. Scott scares the crap out of me.

Requiem for a Dream would totally be in my top 100.

Not so sure about Vegas Vacation though, I gotta say...

And how dare you include Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! Temple of Doom better be still to come... *shakes fist*

I own Cabin Boy on dvd. Theres something thats demented about a man-shark, a slutty 8 armed lady,a 30-something year old virgin and pirates. I think its aquired taste. I also like to mention I use to be a big fan of Chris Elliot's cancelled show "Get a Life"

I used to watch Get A Life all the time! I also have the Get A Life DVD set. I liked Chris Elliot back when he was the "man under the seats" on the David Letterman show.

I wouldn't expect any no good Brit to understand the humor in Vegas Vacation. It's too high brow.

And, Temple of Doom was easily the worst of the IJ trilogy. Don't hold your breath for that one.

Ah geesh. I have a weakness for Drop Dead Gorgeous. I saw it with a friend guy who freaks when last year's queen is losing all her hair. I was laughing and he was like "isn't this the stuff that's closer to home for you girls? This is terrible." I said, it's impossible not to see our own habits magnatized on screen and not laugh. We really can be that stupid if you put us under the magnifying glass. Magnifying being the operative word. I don't laugh at the everyday stuff, but c'mon, beauty contests in general in this country are just freaking hilarious.

Ed Wood and Dodgeball is the best of the bunch after that. Th eother comedies are passable though.

Schmidt isn't really a comedy, so its not included in the above statement. Good movie. Not my fave of the year, but it was up there.

Well, it's good to hear somebody else had the good taste to see American Movie.

I was half tempted to order Coven. Looked like a bitchin' masterpiece. And by bitchin', I mean "shitty" and by masterpiece I mean "piece of shit".

If they ever wanted to recast the movie, I can think of a few good candidates that frequent the WoKJ... :-k

I adored the first three Vacation films (even the second, with it's cheesy, slightly-offensive charm), but Vegas Vacation? Really? Did Chevy Chase even know where he was making that film?

Temple of Doom is not only the best IJ film, but the best Spielberg film period. There, I said it.

I love mocumentaries like Drop Dead Gorgeous, Best of Show and This Is Spinal Tap. Maybe it's tied to my love of mocking people? Will Sasso really cracks me up in DDG.

You'd like American Movie, I think.

Astonishing picks! Especially Happy Gilmore, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and I Love You To Death.

Bridget Jones is a masterpiece thanks to the Hugh Grant/Colin Firth girl fight.

Wow... two shocking bombs in that post... You liked European Vacation and Temple of Doom is your favorite Spielberg film... Clearly you were dropped on your head as a child. This completely explains why you didn't like the Matrix films.
