Quite possibly the most moving trailer I've ever seen... the last part gave me MAJOR goosebumps

Every trailer I see for this gives me goosebumps. I haven't been this excited for a film since....since....(blatant Episode IV reference).

I think this is one prediction where Ragnarok will finally be off.

I disagree. I think Ragnarok is almost dead on. His legs are a little short, and the second weekend drop is too big (it's Memorial Day weekend), but other than that, I like it.

Don't let fanboyism blind you baumer. No matter how good RotS is, it still won't come anywhere near the precious...

Hmm, Ragnarok has spoken. I like the 4-day predictions as well, and I also think the legs will be better, given the great reviews and the fact that this maybe, could be, possibly is, the last Star War movie. It will challenge ROTK's total gross for sure, IMO.

Ragnarok, you should not let your looney ways sway your better judgement. I can't believe you guys are all making these predictions when we don't even know the screencount. First weekend competition isn't going to be an issue. Starving summer movie fans need some water in this dry spell, and Sith is holding the canteen.

Some of these predictions seem a bit high for opening day. Why do you guys think this one will get in the low to mid 40's while Ep.1 got 28.5, Ep.2 got 30? Thats a very mild increase given the three year gap for inflation. I know this is the last Star Wars movie, but what will cause this one to get 10-15 million more in its opening day than AOTC. The thursday opening is more the Star Wars fanbase and I don't think the fanbase has increased that much in three years. I'm going to the 12:01 midnight showing like everyone else which are sold out across the country, but I don't think this has Reloaded type of hype going for it to reach a 42.5 mil opening day (including 10pm Wed night shows). I would love for ROTS to break every box office record there is (big SW fanboy that I am), but I only see it opening in the mid to upper 30's for opening day. I hope I'm wrong.
Opening day- 36 mil
3 day- 90 mil
4 -day- 126 mil

Well, Return of the King had an $8 million higher opening day, so if that were to happen here, it'd be around $38 million.
That's what I'm hoping for.

I don't see how this will not top $300M. Unless it gets as bad WOM as The Matrix Reloaded then it's opening weekend should be enough to gurantee it.
Thursday: $44M
Friday: $32M
Saturday: $35M
Sunday: $28M
3 day - $95M
4 day - $139M
probably around a 45% second weekend drop thanks to Memorial Day.
Total - $365M
