I'm agreeing on both sides here. $40-50 million opening weekend? WHY?! It's not a blockbuster type movie, it's not a frontloaded movie. The most I see this make in the weekend is $30 million. But, I do see this crossing $100 million. Comparing this to Riddick doesn't make too much sense to me.

I meant just numbers-wise. An Opening weekend of around $24-27 million, somewhat better legs and a total of around $65-70 million. Maybe Tomb Raider 2 is a better comparison. However, I expect Mr. and Mrs. Smith to open somewhat better than TR2.

Im curious on where the 40 million dollar opening figures came from. Do you mean to tell me that the movie will almost be in par with Troy's opening. The better comparison for this movie would probably be Stepford Wives with the exact same opening and ending gross

Revised:
37m/105m.
I am still confident in a 100m+ gross. I think this one will suprise, so long as it delivers plenty of action...

the weekend it is opening is the only red flag for me. otherwise it would easily top $50 million. action, comedy, great trailer, plus two hot stars.. there's just no reason why it wouldn't. except that is is opening in June...

It looks too "small-scale" to open over 30 million.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Opening:
Maximum - $32.0 mil
Minimum - $18.5 mil
My Prediction - $23.6 mil
Total:
Maximum - $104.0 mil
Minimum - $52.0 mil
My Prediction - $72.5 mil

30 MIL Opening
100 mil max
I think it will be the only one of the group on June 10 to have staying power, given Batman and the rest of them opening later.

I'm wondering if we are going to see another Proof of Life-ish situation from Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Goodness knows the (at the time) rumored romance behind Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan didn't help that movie.

Those are some pretty incredible legs! A 5.0 multiplier? Not likely.

I don't think it'll follow that. That was more of a drama-action type of movie, while this is more of a fun, action comedy with two bigger stars and a great release date.

It all depends on how much marketing they put into this. I think the concept is brilliant, and though I don't know if it will strike the same chords with everyone else, this oculd draw in neglected demos if marketed correctly. If they market it as just an average action movie, than hope is lost for it.
But I'm optimistic.
42/136
Ocean's Eleven -esque opening, but worse legs.

How is 3.23 multiplier bad? :???: I don't see anything wrong with that. Not great, but not disappointing very likely.

The full trailer is very effective. I think this has the potential to be huge.
