 Re: Celebrity Deaths
The worldwide view on immigration from the right is in direct opposition to how Christ viewed the issue. In fact one of the bigger points of contention between Christ and Jewish contemporaries was he views on the Jewish nation state.

 Re: Celebrity Deaths
He does sound relatively socialist to me with the feeding the needy mentality.
But in modern day I'd call leftists the more utilitarian side, their version of morality is based not on the action itself being good/bad, but whether they think it will have positive impact on society (one of their mistakes is thinking that it's easy to predict this, or that they can't fall victim to rationalizing every thing they want to do this way). This would differ from the bible since the whole idea of morality in a vacuum and judging the action, not just the result, is clearly inspired by Christianity or other religions, hence things like 10 commandments, Jesus big speech, etc. driving home the idea that some actions are always good and some things are always bad or sins regardless of what the end result is. The best answer is probably somewhere in the middle, you can't go full deontological morality where you aren't allowed to kill someone robbing your house and threatening your wife because murder is always bad, on the other hand it would be evil to kill newborn babies just to harvest their organs to save several babies, or for example some of the worst things in history such as by people like Stalin and Mao were all about the utilitarian mentality of "this is for the greater good in the long run". No matter what they do they can rationalize it saying future generations benefitting from the communist utopia can thank them for having the balls and being willing to crack some eggs to make an omelette.

Jesus was pro law and order "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" "obey earthly authority" he would not approve of illegal immigration.

Lol. It truly must be a magical experience to take the bible only at face value. I'm kind of jealous when I can tell someone believes that ridiculous statement as an actual "no ifs ands or buts" truth.
PS that quote has nothing to do with law and order, but civic duty

lol, Caesar’s Rome had slavery. It couldn’t be more obvious. You’re obviously not a student of history. I’m done with you. That’s the last time I’ll view your posts.

PS that quote has nothing to do with law and order, but civic duty Agreed. Pretty sure the guy who was often at odds with Roman authority was not a law and order guy. At least not in the way modern secular dogma would have you believe.

 Re: Celebrity Deaths
And thats the thing that bugs me. Its treated as some strict and unflinching dogma, but in reality people just shape their preferred holy text around whatever they already think. Cause its never been about the teachings of Christ or Mohhamed, its never been about the betterment of mankind, its always just been about securing your own afterlife.

 Re: Celebrity Deaths
Give me a break!
God's law is not a thing, certainly nothing to be taken literal, otherwise you believe in eternal damnation to more than half the world and murderers, rapists, people that kill in the name of god, etc. that ask for forgiveness before death are granted salvation if they mean it. Given the undisputed fact that the Bible was mostly interpreted by songs and fairytales hundreds of years after Jesus' supposed death, Thou Shall Not Kill or Steal are pretty much mad libs for any type of faith structure to a better life. Religion is for faith, nothing more.
RIP Pope Francis, he made some interesting changes and being most of the conclave was selected by him, hopefully it continues.

This is quite literally what Christians believe, no one is forcing you to convert. It’s just irritating when people be like “Jesus was a fraud and Christianity is fake” And also be like “Jesus would support all my social views”

 Re: Celebrity Deaths
Diid I say anything remotely close to that. You’re the one that said Jesus is absolutely against illegal immigration.
Ps, that is not what 90% of Christians believe. You have a projection flaw that is quite evident. I’m Christian as well. Doesn’t mean I have to be a zombie. Unless you aren’t planning to be a man of the cloth (though tbh I’ve known quite a few priests and deacons that were bad alcoholics and hardcore gamblers (they love horse races) you really need to do some outside reflection. In many ways faith gets stronger when you move away from one made up story.

 Re: Celebrity Deaths
PS not really trying to get into a religion debate because it goes against my morals. I simply was commenting that you think Jesus would be against US immigration laws is just the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while.
