Not against it with today's comedy environment.

Nobody will care if Blythe Danner and Teri Polo are replaced by some other women. The series was made huge because of two men.

There will be a 3rd Black Panther. No word on Coogler's involvement.

The original is underappreciated compared to Frozen/Moana/Encanto and it might be too late for a sequel so I guess why not.

I've probably said it before, but at this point I'd prefer if they remade their older live action films into animated ones over recycling their newer properties so quickly. Flubber deserves another chance!

That is not the way the industry is moving, though. It would feel like regression to have an animated Flubber and an animated Mighty Joe Young in 2025 when you have live-action ones in existence.

They've still got a few left in the tank to turn into live-action movies, such as Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Pocahontas, and if they really want a challenge; Anastasia.

See, I reckon Titan A.E. could be a huge live-action summer blockbuster.

Failed early 2000's animated fair like Atlantis, Titan AE and Treasure Planet would be ripe for live action.

They could also mine some of their older animated films like The Fox and the Hound, Sword in the Stone (this was planned at one point), The Aristocats, The Emperor's New Groove (this is too good to be re-made live action) etc

With the Fox library as well - wouldn't be surprised with the aforementioned Anastasia Ice Age, Robots, Horton and Peanuts live action films.

Hopefully never a Simpsons live action though.

Yeah they could definitely do something with this (CGI or live action)

Cool that they got Paltrow to do a real role in a Safdie brother Chalamet movie this year (ping pong period pierce "Marty Supreme").

The Rock was great in Pain & Gain so I'd like to see him take on another more serious role like this one.

This has potential at Christmas. Three Christmas' in a row of Chalamet supreme... Giving me Catch Me if You Can vibes.

Wish it wasn't a Netflix film. I bet it would be theatrical if Quentin hadn't self imposed a "I can only make one more movie" rule upon himself. Fincher as a director for hire is weird, but Mehnk and The Killer were both pretty weak so maybe he just doesn't have anything else in him anymore?

I'll still watch it though. :P

This is a letdown. I love Fincher but not a fan of the Fincher Netflix era.

https://people.com/bill-murray-makes-new-comments-on-being-mortal-misconduct-allegations-11709894

I didn't remember this being news at all when it happened, feel like I'm hearing about it for the first time.

So, I guess with me-too being on high-alert something like this was not going to fly.
But I'm just thinking, at least from hearing Murray's side on it, it seems like a thing being blown way out of proportion.

Like that an incident like this would cause a whole film production to halt.

I can imagine that the other person felt uncomfortable by Murray's action, but then an apology should be enough to move on from something like this, because, well, just going on Murray's side of events it was at worst a joke in poor taste.

It hurts to give a "who cares?" to a Star Wars film but seriously who cares?

I remember when a SW film announcement would have warranted its own thread and 20 pages of comments. Now - noone cares.

I think it's a nice announcement. Not a SW fan, but since it stars Gosling I am interested.

But yeah, SW is just not the same anymore post The Force Awakens.
Actually we can say the same about the MCU post Endgame, except that didn't have the longer lasting cultural legacy of TFA.
It seems, right now James Bond may the only really legacy franchise still going.

Looking at insane presales for Sith re-release, I think there is life to the franchise. If they can sell the movie to the fan base it will have big OW for sure.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I kind of like the idea. Just feels like it didn't make much of a splash.

The MCU is in a similar, if not worse boat.

Agreed. Looks like the majority of die-hard SW fans have switched from being the original fans of the OT trilogy (ages 40 up) to fans who watched the prequels as kids/teens and fans who follow Mando and the TV shows (under 40). The latter group may also include fans of the sequels which I assume will have a renewed interest in the years to come.
